Alright, I'm going to fast tomorrow (500 Kcal) so I'm going to have coffee for breakfast, but I'm not sure what I should 'eat' the rest of the day. Salad with little bit of lemon juice? steamed mushrooms? hard boiled egg? I thought it would be enjoyable to sip on fizzy water with a little bit of lemon. Not sure. I know I need a plan before tomorrow morning roles around.
Does anyone have any ideas? What do you 'eat' on a fasting day?

Use your calories on protein and salad. It will help keep your blood sugar level. Egg whites in the morning. Some shrimp and salad at lunch and a little chicken and a veggie at dinner. Use vinegar or lemon juice n salad unless you have a very low cal dressing.

Thank you! Should I eat through out the day or should I wait until dinner? What's the difference in the way it effects the body?

@KPP 600k is 600k. The difference is preference. I am with Drag. I would rather not eat at all than call 150k a "meal." Easier to adhere, for me.

Does it matter what my 500 kcal meal consists of this evening? I was thinking I would stick to my 75% fat, 20% protein, 5% carbs (or close to it). Would that be okay? Or does it need to be lean?

How are you feeling? Some folks know that once they start eating, they have a difficult time controlling urges so they don't eat until dinner. Then you can go to bed, right?!? Your % sound like they would work...give it a try and see. My thought on what to eat, I try to make every calorie count. Vegetables, some protein and some good fat...lots of water :) Good luck and enjoy :)

yes I too do not eat on a fat.. water.. I also dont plan them I just go with the flow when I feel its right and see how long it lasts. Not talking about IF 16:8 during that normal everyday fast i have one coffee with 10g of coconut oil in the am keeping me under 100k until I break for the day... just what I do

It is probably too early to celebrate but I made it through my first fast day. I just had coffee in the morning, water throughout the day, and enjoyed my dinner on the patio. I'm looking forward to going to bed so I can call this done. :) It wasn't too bad.

16 hours has been proven to start certain biochemical processes. So if you quit eating at 8 pm, 4 hours to midnight plus 12 = Noon. I am with Bill though. Eating later in the day means your body is less likely to keep you up all night.

I am trying 5:2 fasting. I worked late last night and ended up eating late (it happens) so I quit eating around 11p last night and broke my fast around 7 p today. Making it 20 hours. I plan to do this every Saturday and Tuesday. I will continue to eat keto ratios when it comes to my macros. I feel like this is just a big experiment. :)
