Penlan's Journal, 16 February 2016

It seems I have spent the last month in limbo weight wise. I hope it's finally on the move down again. Wondering what I can do to kick start loss....

Taken on average it's the steady decline I have seen over the last year, a kilo a month. They say slow is best so I am taking it and trying to not get frustrated.

Now it's stopped raining I will find it easier to get out on the DC. It rained every day here since the end of October. Honestly!! Two days when it didn't rain in the day, but it rained the nights either side so was still wet and miserable. Finally seeing the sun is great for mood and motivation.

Wow, that is a lot of rainy days. Hope you get some sunshine! Hang in there, slow with the weight loss can be frustrating but it's a good way to go.

Well... maybe it's time to review your RDI? I noticed you put it up recently, maybe that was a bad move? You're about my weight, though you're probably more active than me. I have mine set to 1300 now, and still have to exercise like the clappers to get any significant loss. Anyway it's just a suggestion - I'm sure you'll find your own solution!

Thanks all. The deluge is back today - a short lived reprise. Flippin' hard! Heidi - I put the RDI back up as I was gaining weight. Counterintuitive I know, but I felt that my metabolism had slowed down as I was starting being cold all the time again. With the higher kcals I had earlier I sped up and was warm or hot a lot of the time. I had spent years being cold all the time since I had to give up my grains so it was a lovely change. The weight loss also sped up at the same time, I had more energy and was able better to move and do more instead of huddling and hiding. With the increase of kcals I have got my mojo back! I am generating heat and 'wasting' it easily so feel that will burn off more kcals, rather than my too low fed body being in conservation mode as it's not really getting enough. You are right, it is a juggling, act and even for one person the causes and effects change, it's not always the same result as happened last time! We shall see..... I shall keep it posted as it will be interesting to look back.
