Switched to semi paleo, just because I believe in the wisdom of throwing out all processed packaged and canned foods as I can (exception:canned tomatoes and coconut milk). I see no problems with eating a minimal amount of white rice and potatoes as long as I keep my overall daily carb count to around 100 grams daily. Strict Paleo says counting calories and carbs is verboten, but you know what? I need to see some numbers and equate them with how I'm feeling health and hunger wise. I'm keeping my carb count to around 100 grams daily to fight the insulin spikes that make me hungry to begin with. After only 2 days I'm feeling way better and my wildly fluctuating digestive problems are balancing themselves out. THAT quickly!

I keep canned green beans, but limit those when eat them. Getting rid of the packaged and processed foods is the best step anyone can take. Great job and keep up the good work!

Thanks. Yeah, I eat frozen green beans and *gasp* green peas as well in moderation.

The best diet is the one you can stick with. Sounds like you have found the one that's right for you. My system can't lose on that many carbs, but we're all different. Best of luck to you in 2016.

My wife calls green peas "frog eyes". I never liked them even before that. Keep marching on, brother, you're doing great.

@Phil, if someone called them "frog eyes" I wouldn't eat them either!

@Steve, do what works for you and be consistent. Actually having and sticking to a plan typically allows for success :)
