Did you have to go to a farm store to buy the chicken feet? I haven't seen them in our local grocery. Or anywhere for that matter. I generally shop at organic farm stores.

I bought some from the organic grass fed shop I visited this weekend, but they are always available at the local grocery stores here, I bought some chicken livers, gizzards, and hearts to mix in the LC stuffing too. I am trying to practice more of the "nose to tail" eating habits.

Ummmm... Chicken buffalo meatballs! Sounds delish! I'm with you on that, Red. I just put on my broth so it will be good n RIGHT. :) My sister was telling me about this LC strawberry crème cheese cobbler thingy that I've got to look up. She told me what to buy, so I've got the ingredients (hopefully...lol). I've just got to look up the directions.

I guess this is it. I will replace the Splenda with Stevia, and maybe do one with blue berries too. http://www.food.com/recipe/low-carb-strawberry-cobbler-119722

Research splenda

Oh I know, Sugar Waffle. That's why I will replacing it with the lesser evil of Stevia. I actually think this is the recipe I will be making with LOTS of substations tho. I really don't know how they call this recipe low carb...smh https://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=2300040

I'm putting my turkey in the oven in about thirty minutes, I'm cooking it slow and low overnight, the way my grandma used to make hers. If it comes out the way I hope it does I'll throw a few more in the freezer for future cheap protein.

Yup already started...Pureed the pumpkin and just finished seasoning the turkey. Unfortunately I love my holiday cooking!

Yesterday we made squash soup w/coconut milk and red curry. Tonight I'm making lactose-free caramel pecan ice cream to go with the pie tomorrow. I can't eat the pies (no wheat, no lactose), but I can eat the ice cream, and everyone loves my ice cream. Tomorrow I make Mediterranean quinoa and a lactose-free-wheat-free pumpkin cheesecake. I'm not sure yet if I'll get everything done!

Hermoines, how was the soup? Must have the recipe if it's good!

BikerT -- message me after Thanksgiving and I'll tell you how everyone likes the soup. If you want to try it in the meantime, go to: http://www.closetcooking.com/2007/11/thai-pumpkin-soup.html#more The recipe calls for pumpkin but also suggests the substitution of butternut squash, which is what we used -- canned organic. Also, we used light coconut milk to keep the calories down, so it's not quite as rich as the original recipe.

Made homemade sausage tonight, it needs to sit in the frig for a day for the spices to blend. Also have homemade bread rising almost ready for the oven. Both are for sausage and potato stuffing. Will roast a squash tomorrow night and will make rolls early Thursday. Am taking some side to DD's. Hermiones Mom, soup sounds good.

If you have any Mexican or Oriental markets with a meat market you can often get chicken feet. The ones here always have them and often pigs feet.

I guess I don't find it hard to find things like that bc I live in the south. Shoot we've got chicken feet, pig feet, ears, tails, brains, balls and all on shelves daily...LOL!

My Thanks Giving is all done ,, leftovers are in the process of being eliminated daily . It was Last Sunday I did the usual stuffing and potatoes for everyone else,, and made several new LC Recipes that I got rave reviews on . an Amazing Chocolate Pie ,, the crust was Macadamia nuts,, Hubby devoured it !! I think I went through like 2 pds of butter and a quart of HWC preparing everything . DELISH !
