Managed to start gym today yippie. I've got 3 months to do this!!! Shape up, shape up, shape up!!! Healthy eating, healthy eating!!!! No grease, no grease, no grease. No sugar, no sugar, no sugar. Leaves, leaves, leaves. No over processed food period!!!!!

@HCB three months just to get in the habit of eating healthy and exercising. I'm a lazy bum and I've been abusing unhealthy food. If I can pull off 3 months, I know I'll definitely be able to pull off a lifetime commitment of staying healthy. @jojoPollock thank you so much. @Northernmusician, exactly. The three months is just to discipline myself and actually get in the habit. I want to make this a lifestyle thing. Thank you for the support

After I joined a gym it took a while to discipline myself to go, I made excuses, it wasn't until January that I got serious. One thing that helped me was buying a pedometer to keep track of my steps and also strength training.
Take different classes that your gym offers to see what you like whether it's step aerobics, spin class, kickboxing, piyo, zumba etc. that will keep you interested in continuing to go.
I think that you are starting with a great mindset realizing that it will take time, discipline and that it is a lifestyle change not just a temporary thing.
