I cleaned and sealed the chimney yesterday and now it no longer leaves dust on you when you touch it and the brick looks bright and clean. I love it! Also added a little silhouette moose switch cover over the fan light dimmer.

Today was day 4 that I have started walking daily, partly because I have had more time lately and the reno in not an all day event that it once was. Will I have days forthcoming that will take all my time and make getting a AM walk in difficult... yes. I still need to prime and paint the Game room and living room but in a hold pattern waiting on them to be done enough so I can do it. Also waiting to lay the floors and refinish floors - both on hold until I can paint. So, I am walking while I am waiting! Then we have a load of small projects to do. That if I build it I have no place to store it so they have to wait. All this waiting is wearing on my ability to remain patient. Pray for rain so my contractor shows this week. My cabinets are due any time.

My Electrician will be here in a few hours it will be nice to have all the electrical running. But there are some things he cannot do like putting up the fixtures in the LR and GR until they are completed and painted. See this vicious circle is dependent on so many other things coming into place to move forward. Praying for strength to maintain my patience.

So, back to walking and enjoying my day. Will probably work on the business stuff after my walk.

Today's advice and what I am hoping to take away:

ok the 30% incline on today's walked kicked my rear. I shortened the walk because I started getting muscle cramps in my hamstrings and calves. only did 1.8 miles short of the 2.5 mi. I was hoping for. Off to do stretching and maybe see how I feel later and try to get another mile or so in. I want my 10k steps.

I love walking. Fortunately it is supposed to be cooler here this week and I am hoping to get a few walks in myself.

You are such an inspiration. At first you daily activity was hard for me to see. But your posts are so motivating. Especally in the area of activity, walking ect. (I avoid the work exercise I have a resistance to that word alone). Walking is so important to me to keep my legs from going unuseable at all. So in comparison to others--- but due to your input--- I'm walking and am not able to go far at all, but I CAN do what I can faster and know eventually do long ones like you. Thanking GOD that he is on the climb, with us, and at the mountain top already preparing our celebration. God bless you and yours.

Ro, I started out on Adkins 2 weeks before starting the demo portion of this reno project.... I was like you winded after just a few minutes of pulling down horsehair plaster walls. It took weeks of pain staking hard work and some weightloss to get me to the point where I did not get up and go to bed in pain. I am still not pain free but it has greatly improved. As has my stamina and my want to do more. I feel guilty sitting still. My pace is not power walking even now. 3-3.5 mph is my best atm and that is because I am still nursing some pain in my knee and sciatica at times. But even that is still showing improvement everyday I get up and move. The pace of the reno and time I needed to dedicate prevented me from doing walks... okay that was the excuse as was pain... an excuse. One I have used for years. But moving feels better, eating right feels better, losing weight feels better. Each thing makes it just a bit better every day. I have more energy and feel better mentally and physically. EXERCISE produces endorphins in the brain that makes you feel good. I used to think it was an EVIL word too. but I am trying to look at things differently. Feeling better, less pain, less meds is motivation. I am excited to get out of bed now and get moving. Life is not drudgery. The sun is shining get outside and move. We are here to help you. It is not an easy climb up the mountain but every step you take counts to making a better you! It may seem like baby steps at times but take them!

Such good advise, you telling me like this so helps. It's like one ounce at a time=1#, one step at a time=can walk=steps, yes looking at things diffrently=learning. I will enjoy the fact 1-I can move & I can do more! Like you also said "Life not drudgery" KEY KEY WORDS TO ME. If one word (so many words)has mentally helped to keep me down is drudgery. Thank you.
