Anita Cocktail's Journal, 24 August 2009

Today was very stressful workwise and ended with a meeting that was supposed to be from 5 to 6:15. I was stoked because they ordered Baja Fresh for dinner which is supposed to be healthy so I grabbed a grilled veggie wrap. The meeting ended up going til almost 7 so I was tired and cranky when I got home...and then it got worse.

Turns out that the calorie count in the Baja Fresh stuff is HUGE! The grilled veggie burrito (which is apparently what I ate) has 800 calories and is 18 points!! I checked the Baja Fresh site for the nutritional info to double check and it looks to me like what I ate was missing a lot of the ingredients - specifically beans and sour cream so I have my doubts as to the point value. I still came in a point under but I can't eat another damn thing tonight.

This fake healthy food ticks me off!

Stuff like that, the healthy organics, I pick them apart and then only eat the really good parts that I like, because the wrap alone is usually 4 points and then add everything else on top of that! Yeah, I have been finding that at least McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts really stick to some things being 300 or 400 calories. Still high, but I can have dinner at night! Oh, and don't forget veggies are zero points if you are hungry!

Ugh that's such a bummer. I would have been annoyed myself if I found out something had that many calories and I had thought I was going the healthy route. How is WW going for you so far? Do you like it?

I do like it...I'm on the Scale Strike so I haven't weighed in for a week and a half but my pants are MUCH looser. I think Weight Watchers is great because I don't feel deprived or hungry and it just makes sense - a gradual decrease in how much you're eating as your weight decreases. How are things going for you?

For me things are fine. I don't think I'm eating enough of the right foods. So I need more education and structure. So I am going to start WW tomorrow. I think it will help lots!
