I strongly believe that weight loss does not have to be as hard as many make it. I am well aware that not everyone is the same. We all have different hormone levels, hormone resistances, metabolisms, life styles, and physical/medical conditions. But after completing the Intensive MOVE weight loss program, I know there is one thing we CAN DO and that is FINE TUNE our metabolism. And this has been one of the attributes of my successful weight loss.

Because we are all different, what may work for somebody may not work so well for somebody else. But I strongly believe there are many things that we do that make our weight loss much harder. And many don't know how hard they are making it for themselves.

If you had just one gasoline automobile for life... you would take care of it. You would fine tune it, put the best gasoline, and do all the preventive maintenance the manufacturer suggested. So why is it that we not do the same for our bodies? There is this thing called the Industrial Global Diet, and the Industries do not care much what kind of fuel you put in your only car for life.

The dieticians that advised me would tell me the changes I needed to make in my diet (No artificial sweeteners, processed foods, high fructose syrup) but they really did not elaborate on WHY i needed to make the changes in the beginning of the course. WHY is so very important!

I am sure if you asked any adult over 30 years old... If they could go back to high school and do it all over... would they try harder? Of Course they would because they know WHY. Our parents told us to do good in school so we could have a better life but did we believe them?

I know on this site I have been hard on people who still take artificial sweeteners. But something they may not know is that it kills the vital bacteria in our small intestines for proper digestion. Once you kill that bacteria it takes days for it to grow back. So only having artificial sweeteners only twice a week will impact your fine tuning for days. If you had to put gas in your car every day and only put diesel fuel twice a week... it is going to run like crap for more than just a few days.

Once again, we all have different metabolism, but we all have the ability to fine tune our metabolism and make weight loss as easy as possible. If it because to hard, and you constantly hungry during the weight loss it is a much harder fight.

I work with a lot of recovering heroin addicts in hospitals and institutions as a free service. I don't get paid for it. I was once a opiate addict and understand. It is a miserable addiction. I never met a heroin addict that was not miserable or wish they could stop. The success rate is very low and the ones who make it are the ones who can find the balance of life and learn to deal with the pain of life. I have seen so many heroin addicts stop for a while, but some issue or bad thing happens and they do not know how to deal with it. They relapse to instant relief of using again. I think emotional eating is very similar.

The key is to live in the moment and not worry or stress out about the future or past. So many times we worry about things that never happen and waste a lot of negative energy. We do this as a mental defense mechanism but usually winds up hurting is in other ways. This is another instance that has helped me in pain management to overcome many difficult situations in my life. And I wanted to share this info to maybe help some others here.

Nice Drop...FANTASTIC Post....I have been cutting back on my Artificial Sweetner for a good while, but if ANYONE had told me WHY...I don't remember it..(I was NOT convinced the small amount I used was going to cause cancer) Thanks for sharing and NOW to try to eliminate A.S. completely in the next few days....Thanks again for the information.

Most people know what to do to lose weight. The problem can come from motivation. Life happens and our motivation ebbs and flows like the tides. You can can try 30 times and on the 31st try, it just clicks. Who knows! I know you just have to keep going and one day you will get there.

Your comments are RIGHT ON TRACK. The artificial sweeteners have been proven unhealthy. I agree with your analogy of the automobile. I believe like an automobile is if it is not started and drove around it rusts and doesn't run properly. RIGHT ON with the fuel you put in your body is KEY to success. You can run for miles and lift tons of weights. But if you stick a bunch of crap in your body...oh well you will have a crappy body. With it being summer, great time to grow fresh veggies and herbs. Try HIIT programs. They work AWESOME. If you need some shoot me a message. Remember to...GO-YA!

Yep. That's why the SCALE is not a great determiner of my progress. I always measure hunger, energy, and cravings and make sure they are in balance. If they are, then fat loss naturally follows for me. Of course making sure my body is getting pure food too and not crap with things in it I can't pronounce.

Did not realize about the artificial sweeteners kill vital bacteria in my system. I just took the powerade zero out of my lunch bag that I just packed. Thanks for the great advice.
