Good Evening, FS Warriors! Busy is my friend! If I don't stay busy, I eat. It's as simple as that. The biggest window of opportunity for failure is when I come to a rest. That's when discipline either takes over, or bows to defeat. So far today, it's victory. Here it is about 7:00 PM, and I'm about done-in for the day. By my calculations, I should be able to have about a 100 calorie snack before bedtime. Assuming FS food calendar is correct, I figured I could have 2 cups of homemade chicken and noodles tonight for supper. I did and it was delicious. I was amazed at how much food two cups really were. I should have eaten just one cup and then I would have had a pasta salad with a vinegarette dressing to accompany the meal. In any case, I was stuffed when I was done, and I don't know if either of those two options was any healthier than the other, but the good news is that I am probably going to make it through another day without going over my self-imposed RDI. I don't have much faith in the FS calculated RDI, regardless of the lifestyle I plug in to the calculation. Perhaps I could lose a little weight using their calculation, but it hasn't proven real fruitful in the past. I'm sticking with the 1800 calories a day, and it seems to be working. I know the diabetic diet is 1500 calories, but I'm not into suffering - just weight loss. Here's wishing you all have a good night's rest, and a wonderful Sunday. Toodles!

For someone as active as you 1800 should bring speedy results. Glad you are satisfied because I totally agree - I'm not into suffering either!

DK, it is surprising how much good food you can eat on whatever calorie level you choose. Good for you 2 days!

DairyKing, I am with ya.....the FS RDI is too high for me too. I guess we must have especially stubborn metabolisms? You just have to find your own daily cal/carb count that 'works' for you. I strive for the 1500 cal/150 carb....but usually end up around 1700/170. The key for me is planning what I will eat all day during my morning cup of coffee. That way, I know I will stay close to my daily goal (it's not etched in stone, and I can change what I eat for an equivalent food item). Try this and see if it works for you. The most important this is.....watch you portions and put everything you eat in your diary.....BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH. Have a wonderful week!

Right Polly, before. I think the FS RDI is high for most people. It sets me much higher than I can even eat.

Thank you, Sazy! Glad that you dropped in, good to hear from you. All is well. I'm with you Polly; documenting or at least looking it up before I eat it, makes all the difference.
