Transformation Butterfly's Journal, 10 May 2015

I have not been loging in for 46 days now due to work. I am training for an accounting position as well as doing my old job and working hard to keep everything going in both positions. Human resource keeps telling me they are looking for a replacement for my old postion but unfortunately no luck yet. (I find that very ironic as a year ago they told me that they could hire a high school kid to do my job when I asked for a pay raise.) I took on the new job in order to gain knowledge and experience as we all know Knowledge is powerful and once you learn something no one can take it from you.
During the last 46 six days I noticed myself slipping back into the group mentality of eating fast food sandwiches after staying way from this type of food for a year. (Trust me the food I ate did not appeal to me and was not filling and left me wanting more food. The reason for eating it quick, fast, cheap and easily available.) Trust me I am know paying for the last 46 six days as my BP is currently out of control and my doctor has now put me on medication that I personally hate taking as I believe in doing it naturally. Don't get me wrong I believe that medication should assist a person in achieving total health if necessary but I don't want to become dependent on drug as I am aware of all of other issues that occur within the human body due to man made medications. I surprised at visting my docotor for my annual check up was asked the following questions.

1. Are you feeling depressed?
2. What is your current job position?
3. How many siblings do you have?
4. How many children do you have?

All very strange questions coming from a doctor that has been my doctor for fifteen years and has transferred my entire file into this new computer system. I also take all the yearly test required and every year all negative. After asking me why did you come into see me today are you in pain, are you suffering from headaches, double vision. (Response no). He then proceeded to tell me that I believe you may have a heart murmurer and hooked me up to an EKG machine. (Test results perfectly normal)
I was then told that I needed to see a cardiologist. I think you need to have a stress test done and have you run for 2 miles. I laughed and told him I have arthritis in both knees and cannot run at all have you forgotten that, but I can walk 2 miles at 3.0 in 45 minutes and lift weights and perform Tai Chi. The following questions where never asked.

1. How often do you exercise?
2. What is your current diet?
3. Difference from past weight to current weight?

When I mentioned that I eating a meat free diet, lots of vegetables(fresh and frozen) and grains, taking vitamin supplements (multi-vitamins,iron,vitamin D, calcium, Salmon oil, biotin, B-Complex, C-complex, probiotics) He turned on me and started talking about how vitamins are not approved by the FDA and Dr. Oz is making huge amounts of money and kick backs from the vitamin industry. He also told me that lot of vitamins are coming from japan and have all kinds of other things in the pills. (Ironic as my doctor is of Asian descent and in the past he took me to the side and told me keep up the good work, but don't mention to my patients in the lobbby what you are taking. He even told me that for years he rejected his heritage and their down to earth remidies, but he was discovering some truth to them.) I found the entire expereince very distrubing especially since his entire office had videos playing everywhere promoting pharmacutical medications for everything from heart disease, High Cholesterol, Breast Cancer, Colon Cancer, Diabetes. Can some tell me when did doctor become more concerned with pushing pills instead of helping a patient become healthy, stay healthy and live longer naturally.
I felt like I was in an episode of the twilight zone. I left his office feel terrible and very down on myself.

I apologize to all my fat secret buddies who I have not been in contact with for the last 46 days, but I am back now and I am commited to continue to change my lifestyle to an all natural and healthy means. I have been away from this website but during my absence I have gotten 7 people on and off my job to start exercising (walking, lifting weights, yoga, carido work outs), they even go around and ask each other why are you eating that garbage when you know it is doing nothing healthy for your body. I am constantly telling them how proud I am of their changes and soon they will see the progress of the hard work they are putting in. I have spoken to a few spiritual support people that I am friends with and they have also supported me in my efforts and told me to continue to fight back as misery loves company and envy and jealously are apparent in others lives and we are humans that tend to destroy in stead of support, encourge and billed up our fellow humans.

I woke up yesterday and called a person in my apartment complex who I met 30 days ago who told me she needed help to loose weight. I told her I am here for you and will call you to get you up every morning and working out.
She told me yesterday after arriving in exercise room that she is grateful for my help, motivation and support. This was like an energy boost for me as I believe that if you can help at least one person while you are in existence in this world your life has had purpose.

PS. Before I left the doctors office he asked me how old are you know. I told him I am 48 and will be 49 in August. He then told me that I don't even look like I am past 30. I considered that a compliment to my current lifestyle changes and looked at a doctor who is now loosing his hair and looks tired and run down.

I am interested in everyone's feed back on this journal entry as again I believe the theory "The teacher will come when the student is ready" and if you did not realize it every person you come into contact with is a teacher for you if you listen and pay attention.

Doctor sounds overworked and stressed! Maybe had you mixed up with another patient!

First, keep an eye on your old job. Seems to me they might not be replacing you because it's cheaper to have you do both jobs. Second, I have noticed weird questions and paperwork at the Dr office. It's part of Obama care. Luckily my Dr asked all the right questions and I showed him my food diary. I think all that testing is quite weird, although a lot more testing is now necessary for prescriptions, including blood pressure (but that's a blood test). Does his practice do the stress test? Sounds financial to me. Luckily my Dr knows how poor I am and don't have insurance so he doesn't do anything that doesn't absolutely have to be done.
