BuffyBear's Journal, 09 July 2011

As you can see, I am back on line! At one point yesterday I had no internet, no house phone and no cell phone. I was totally stressed, not because I felt isolated, but because I'm the one who gets to fix these messes.

The lightening took out the internet provider, and of course after they were back up my network had to be reset - I was on the help line for almost an hour last night.

As for my home phone, I run it through my computer and that still is not working. Will deal with that another day.

Now for the cell phones: It was my unfortunate timing that I had made an appointment yesterday to switch cell phone companies and the transfer did not go as smoothly as planned. And, to make matters worse, I couldn't call the help line about my other two problems without a phone. That is why I was so stressed!

I will now spend the rest of the day with low tech devices such as my washer, dryer and vacuum cleaner.

Hi Buffy, your day yesterday sounds aggravating especially having to work with the help line. What crazy timing on your cell phone switch! I am happy you are back on-line today and my wish for you is that you get as much done as swiftly as I did yesterday. Wow...my mind-set was focused, in gear and my home is feeling like a place of peace instead of chaos. Have a Chill-Axing Day. TOWANDA!!!

Lisa - You are right - I've really got to focus. I want to live in a place of peace also.

There's a lot to be said for low tech! I've always suspected a vast conspiracy is at work in regard to the timing of those tech devices dying/failing/going bonkers!!! LOL!! The timing is never good and then when you can finally get a call though to Tech Support, well it's more like Phone Tree Maze with nary a human being available. And don't get me started on all the money one pays monthly for the privilege of entering into this Tech-Savvy world. Breathe! You got this - you'll get everything figured out and functioning again. You will prevail!!

Sandy - thanks. You know, there are days when I think I'm too damned old for all this.

If you're successfully dealing with a network, you're light years ahead of me! After all, my cell phone is primarily (gasp!) a phone!

I'm so glad you're back on line! I have to admit you have an amazing sense of timing! I hate having to deal with help lines and tech companies in general. On the positive side, you were able to enjoy some quality time with your washer, dryer, and vacuum cleaner! They probably were thrilled with your undivided attention. Have a super Sunday, my friend!
