Gained 2 pounds past week. I'm at a loss as to how. Eat exactly as I should, no cheating. Even getting in more exercise. Maybe it's because I've been having trouble getting much sleep, maybe 5 hrs a night if I'm lucky. Been drinking more water. I was hoping I'd lose a pound or two so I could partake in good Easter Dinner with family. I'm going to go take a walk, good luck to all.
230.0 lb Lost so far: 45.0 lb.    Still to go: 35.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Sometimes there's just no rhyme or reason.

Getting enough sleep really does make a difference. Try to get at least 7 hours if you can. If you are having insomnia issues, there are lots of things to try that are supposed to help you sleep. Some examples that work for me personally are turning off electronic screens (computer, tv, phone) at least an hour before you plan to go to bed, sleepy time tea, and writing down things to do tomorrow so I'm not running them through my head while I'm lying in bed. Don't worry about the number; you're doing great!

Believe it or not, if you've increased exercise and not eating enough calories, your body can hang on to the weight instead of lose it. That was the case for my husband. When I went through a few weeks of less than 5 hours of sleep, my weight loss came to a screeching halt. Sleep really does effect weight loss, especially if your body is not in the deep, stage 4 sleep (past the REM sleep) for a certain time. More water and green tea (the real stuff) can help flush out toxins that can impede weight loss.

Yup, when i saw "more exercise" that is the key. Doing more exercise than your muscles are used to causes them to retain water to help them heal. Google "why the scale lies" for insight.

Thanks to you all for the advice. I will try it. Sleep is a problem for me at least 5 nights a week. I cut everything off before going to bed. I lay down & try to get to sleep, but I lay there sleepless at least 2 or 3 hrs. Have tried getting up, doing something but that doesn't work either. Tried Melatonin & tea with no caffeine. It's hard to get in comfortable position. Right side, my knee hurts, left side, my shoulder. I have a Dr.'s appt. next wk, will see if he has any advice. I don't want sleeping pills though. Just got back from early church service this wonderful Easter morning. Hope you all have a great Easter.

You're gaining muscle, which weighs more, but losing inches, which is good for you. Don't stop your exercise because of it, though. It will eventually come off. One or two pounds is not a lot. It could be water weight, even. You're doing great and I'd keep doing whatever you're doing!
