Panigale1199's Journal, 26 February 2015

Yesterday I had a fight with my family over text messages at work. It got me real stressed out to the point of crying. I left work early because I couldn't concentrate anymore. I went home and let my steam off with cooking. I made a paleo meat loaf so I would have lunch for today and Friday. ALso due to the stress of yesterday I treated myself to some home made paleo sweet potato fries. I used organic sweet potatoes, tapioca flour, and cooked them in organic coconut oil with some parsley flakes salt and pepper . It really hit the spot. I also ate a bit of chicken wings.

Instead of over doing it with sweets yesterday (I typically go to sweets when I hit my stress boiling point) I made a home made strawberry milk shake. It made 16 oz. I split it with my boyfriend. So I had about 8 oz. That was as much as I messed up yesterday which I cannot say is totally horrible. Back on track today, I feel a little better. I am trying not to let yesterday still bum me out. I have been working out every morning this week. I woke up today and felt tired, I didn't want to go to the gym. But I sucked it up and went. After my 35min workout I felt a whole lot happier and refreshed.

I plan to start being strict with 50g carbs or less so I can start seeing results. I am also trying to find a way to sleep better at night. I have the hours in 7 1/2-9 hours depending on the day. It is the quality sleep I am having an issue with. I believe its from the stress of the day. Typing this down helps. I am letting out my stress and emotions on here rather than worrying about them while I try to work today. Happy Thursday all!

50g carbs is WONDERFUL if you can do it... GOOD LUCK!!! when I was actively losing, I tried to keep my carbs less than 150g ... that seem to work for me... You continue to have the right attitude and WILL succeed!

Thanks!!!! I noticed I hover between 50-60g carbs. But I haven't given it a good week of it. I keep slipping up. But thank you I am trying to keep my stress under control and focusing on being happy. And if I can I would like to stick to 50g for a week straight. lets see if I can do it :)

21 days, my friend! Once you see the results of staying strict for 3 weeks, you'll never look back!

Reducing my carbs also seems to improve my sleep quality and my ability to get to sleep at night. Last night was the exception to getting to sleep quickly...too many irons in the fire at the moment, so my brain refused to cooperate. That is the first time in a while though, and it used to be pretty much every night. Hopefully, dropping the carbs will help you sleep better as well.

I hope so! I think I need to drop the carbs for a few days back to back without slipping up to see real effects. Specially my sleep. I get very restless at night which can be due to stress and too much on my mind I miss having deep sleep

I'll be interested to see how it works out for you.

Yes! I want to try and stick to 50g or lower for two weeks straight without messing up. The hardest is the weekends when I go out to dinner and such. I might have to sacrifice and eat home the next two weekends

I eat out all the time. I'm just "that guy" who takes a menu item and completely changes it. Most restaurants have green veggies available for sides. :) Go to meal? 6 oz sirloin with steamed broccoli. Problemo solved.

That's my go to as well, chadlius88! The variation would be a side salad either in addition to or in place of the broccoli, depending on my mood.

Haha thanks Glen! I deal with interesting people at work. But I try to leave work at work and not being those stresses at home. I don't get stressed too easily. Only if I let it stress me. And I'll happily cook for you !
