Panigale1199's Journal, 24 February 2015

It always turns into about 5 pieces. SO I am going to tighten up my diet and be strict. Going to the gym in the morning helps me stay alert all day. Also using my fitbit helps make me move more

So not to tell you its ok to do the dark chocolate lol but.... I have been eating the Simply Lite no sugar added 45% cacao bars. They are pretty good and you can eat more than a small sliver. I do the ones with almonds for lower carbs. I got mine on Amazon but I think you can get them at most groceries now.

Try an 85% dark, don't chew it just let it melt in your mouth. See if that will help a bit.

Someone needs to invent a machine which will dispense one and only one small morsel of chocolate per day. :)

Hmm I might give that chocolate a try. I think the dove chocolate can have a little too much sugar which is addicting. I also like chocolove 85% chocolate. and their 75% dark chocolate are not so bitter. I hope I can train my state buds to be ok with less sugar. I stopped using sugar or sugar substitutes except pure stevia powder or drops in my tea. I just need to not over indulge.

I sometimes eat a couple tablespoons of the semi-sweet chocolate chips because they actually don't taste that great but it curbs my sweet tooth without putting it into overdrive. I also learned that Butterscotch chips put my sweet tooth into overdrive! I keep them in the garage refrigerator just to make sure that they are far enough away to forget about them.

So, here's your chocolate lesson for the day (I work in a chocolate factory)....the % on dark or semisweet chocolate is how much unsweetened chocolate liquor or cocoa powder is in the chocolate, since it's unsweetened that's why the higher the % the more bitter it is....so then, about half of chocolate liquor is fat, so while you're getting less sugar, you're actually getting more fat than a milk chocolate (which is higher sugar than dark or semisweet)...sooooo if you're looking for a dark chocolate, try to find one with cocoa powder in the ingredients, it will have less fat than one JUST made with chocolate liquor :)

No worries - just a fluctuation, Do what you been doing - it works!

THanks HCB, I am trying to look at it that way! @Socolova- that is interesting. I rather get more fat than sugar. I am going to try to stick to the higher % of chocolate. @BeGracious- That is another smart idea. For me MIlk Chocolate is TOO SWEET-makes me a little sick-Semi Sweet is similar to the taste of the Dove Dark CHocolate- sooo good but I still want more=(

Generally speaking, semisweet has the lowest amount of fat, dark has the highest, milk is right in the middle.....dark has the lowest amount of sugar, milk has the highest, and semisweet is in the middle :)
