extreme170's Journal, 30 January 2015

According to everyone else's posts, I think I'm the only one with negative results and thoughts about dieting. I think I'm just meant to be fat. One person tells u to watch calories, another person tells u to not eat over 45 carbs, the gym tells u to eat between 200-250 carbs a day. People tell u that 900 calories a day us not enough. But when u try to kinda put it all together, u stop losing weight and get weak with headaches, u feel like ur going through depression, even have to hold back tears for no reason. Dieting is SOOOOOO confusing. I've always been a simple kinda person

I think my main issue with not losing atleast 0.5 lbs a day, like I was, since I was losing so much, I was convinced I was going to be down to 170 by june (beach vacation), and now it doesn't look like I will be anywhere close. its just such a shut down.

I have been up and down my whole life. Each diet worked for a while, but it truly began to work when I started shutting out all the naysayers and did it on my own. What works for one may not for another....cripesakes...I gain 15 lbs on weightwatchers. Do what works for you and only you know what moves that scale needle. We are all here to help and guide..not dictate and judge. God Bless, and know that you can do this.

Reaching my plateau is such a downer for me and now I have to find away to convince myself that I must just hang in there , the weight will start coming off again. It is just so irritating doing all the hard work and going nowhere. :(

I have followed the ADA guidelines and have lost over 116 lbs without being lightheaded or consumed with cravings. It is not a diet, but a Live-it. A good balance of carbs, protein and fats that your healthy body needs to stay healthy. I have an abundance of fresh veggies, reasonable fruit, enough carbs to keep me energized and proteins and fats to make the body burn calories instead of storing them. I even have an occasional treat because the best way is everything in moderation. I try to plan for the treats and make 90% of my eating healthy. Sometimes life happens and you don't plan for the treats, they just happen ... and when that does, I make sure the rest of my choices are right back to what is good for me. If I don't love my body for keeping me moving and alive, who will? Here is an interesting Ted Talk on the science why dieting doesn't work. That is why I don't diet -- I Live-It. http://www.ted.com/talks/sandra_aamodt_why_dieting_doesn_t_usually_work

Please don't be dismay. Not everything works for the same people. If one diet plan does not work for you, try another. Diet is only a guide. Understand your body for it to work for you. Counting calories does not work for me, but atkins does. Be encourage. Don't be concern with the scale, focus on the change in your body. Don't give-up.
