FullaBella's Journal, 02 January 2015

Tuesday? No, Friday. This time of year w/holidays one week after another always messes with my mind. Though I enjoy the days off, I'm glad the endless food days are over for a while. Time for me to rededicate my eating to what serves my health and lifestyle best.

I'm beginning to think any sort of dairy does NOT and am going to eliminate it starting today. I'll put the cheeses from Slick into the freezer and use something besides yogurt on my oatmeal for a while. And today, I'll resume recording my food; measuring too. I need to get a grip on this eating with a lot more mindfulness than I've demonstrated for a while.

Dreary rainy day here so I'm grateful I work indoors and am dry and warm. I just finished updating my shop books for the end of the year. Life is good.

Have a wonderful day,
Bells

You know, this cheese discussion hit right on time. I had PLANNED to eliminate dairy from my WOE for a while because of the way my body was reacting and now Jeri's comment has triggered a memory of how I used to eat only REALLY good cheese sparingly. For me it was like my 'chocolate' and I was mindful about cutting ONE ounce (not a chunk) of it and then slicing that thin and enjoying it with full attention. Yesterday I had a craving for Mac & cheese which was probably JUST SALT - I had also been very mindful of 'what is it I'm really craving and what is the vehicle for it?' two years ago. These discussions are great - reminding me of ways I used to do this healthy eating thing BETTER. Time to regain some of those methods.

I enjoy good cheese but only .5 to 1 oz. at a time. Makes eating scrambled eggs and omelets delicious so I don't need butters or buttery spreads. Gets my vitamin D in with a little flavor. Some people can't tolerate dairy, counting myself lucky. Good luck!

Definitely!! I have fallen in love with pecorino and really good parmesan. A tiny bit is so rich and goes a long way.
