Journal Entry 2 for DAY 9 of BEING who *I* want to be by DOING what *I* say *I* will do!

I'm astonishing myself! LOL :)
Today I gave focus to what passed my lips & I can't believe how close I came to being *spot on* as to the %'s I set as my goal,without even purposefully aiming to do so.
I am posting my set goal % first & then the actual % that I ate......
Carbohydrates (40%) 41% ......Fats (25%) 26%...... Proteins (30%) 33%
Is that not totally head over heels backwards flips awesome!?!
My RDI of calories *I* have set at 1500 while fs recommends 1700. However I only consumed 1478 & again, thats without purposefully aiming to!! *I* am so STOKED :)

Jim, thank you but it was pure accident!! However,I'm going to be looking into it a bit closer once I make my walking a habit. I've been catching some of your comments in our #'s Group. You seem to understand whats going on there much better than I do. LOL

Michele, Thank you for reading & enjoying my journals & commenting on my posts. I'm glad that I can be an encouragement :) I just read your journal that you confessed up front was long....You have set some great goals & as you mentioned ONLY you can do what it takes to reach them.I would like to offer some suggestions on 2 things you spoke of. 1-Make a list of healthy places you will eat when you have to go out & perhaps what you will order once you are there.Keep the list with you so you can refer to it. Sometimes the plans we make fall flat if we don't think them all the way thru. Aromas,cravings,peer pressure,time can easily push us to do what we don't really intend to do. It's a good plan just complete it. And 2-I use to make a PRO list of all the things I wanted to add to my diet & a CON list of all I wanted to cut out. For instance when *adding* water I would list:Flushes out fat cells, Puts elasticity back into stretched out skin, etc. When *avoiding* soda I would list: It eats corrosion off batteries what is it doing to my insides? It has sugar in it & sugar is a poison.Etc. then when I found myself craving the soda I would look at it & say the CON list then take the water & as I drank it I would say the PRO list. Doing this trained my brain to associate negative thoughts with the soda & positive thoughts with the water which made the "switch" much easier & quicker than it otherwise would have been. :) Hope these suggestions help you.
