ok, i'm thinking about eating some carbs , like a piece of bread or something?? or a piece of fruit??. maybe that will stop the palpitations. but then i would have to start induction all over again. i really don't want to do that.but, i feel like my body needs it.

Usually heart palps are more from dehydration, so you need water and/or potassium with magnesium. I have a herat condition and also am a certified EMT, I am in no way a Doctor, but staying hydrated and having the right balance of electolytes and vitamins is very important to heart health. Good Luck get it checked out and keep us updated!

go ahead and eat a banana. Don't worry about re-starting in induction, just re-start in owl. And, if you want to be more Atkins friendly, have an avocado. If you feel like your body needs something, you're probably right. Maybe Atkins really isn't for everyone! I think bananas are the cure for everything.

I agree with newlywed. 1st and formost - get it looked at. But if these palpatations are from Atkins flu then you should try some chicken broth. But no - the carbs will not help. They may actually make it worse.

"Usually heart palps are more from dehydration, so you need water and/or potassium with magnesium." - Couldn't agree more!!! You can ask any pharmacist at a drug store, and they can recommend an over the counter potassium/magnesium vit to take... plus increase your water!

bannanas are great for dehydration, maybe a powerade zero. And I agree just start back in OWL. Take care of yourself 1st!

ok, well i drank a cup of beef broth, and that seemed to help . although the amount of sodium concerns me a little bit. i have hypertention, and water retention.but i feel much better!! so i did not eat any bad carbs.i sat here and cried about thinking i might have to eat carbs lol.i also drank 64 oz of water, like i do every day. i have not had anything to drink besides water in almost 3 wks. so, thank you to everyone who helped me through this tough time.i could not have done it without you.

I was feeling very light headed today and sick so couldn't even think about eating, but I think my blood sugar was low, I had an Atkins milk shake and felt a little better. I have just eaten Beef with steamed vegetables and felt even better. I used to drink a glass of orange juice to get over this feeling, of course I can't do that. I am allergic to fruit so this suits me doing Atkins

I'm glad you're feeling better. It makes me sad to think of you sad, though! I'm all Ms Advice over here. You can kick me later. You can drink more water if you'd like. I think 64 ounces a day is just something that someone pulled out of their behind many moons ago. You can drink less, too. My point is, drink as much as you want! And, if you MUST cry, drink more water to replenish your tears :)
