I am really looking forward to this month! I can't wait to see all of the amazing things that are going to happen!

The half-marathon training plan is going smoothly. Yesterday, I finished an 8.4 mile run on the treadmill and felt wonderful! Today is a day of "active recovery", with 30 minutes of rebounding (I LOVE my mini-trampoline!) and a 45-minute power yoga session. I find it rather amusing that I consider it to be a "rest day" when I still exercise for 75 minutes?!?! Oh, how times have changed! Exercise has become part of my life that I can't imagine living without. I am infinitely grateful to be able-bodied and capable of accomplishing whatever physical goals I set for myself. It wasn't so long ago that constant pain and illness prevented me from doing much more than sitting on the couch and watching life pass me by. Now, I grab life by the horns and try my best to make everyday extraordinary!

I've also been working on building my meditation practice in the last couple of weeks. It's really been helping me reduce stress, focus on what's really important and let go of unnecessary distractions. I've been using the meditation app "Omvana" and it's great! My personal mini-challenge for the month of October: I'm determined to find at least 15 minutes a day to sit peacefully for a guided meditation session. After all, there is so much more to being truly healthy than just "diet and exercise".

Hope everyone is looking forward to an amazing October! Make it extraordinary!

You are an inspiration! I loved trying meditation in my women's group, led by our minister (who practices mediation on a regular basis). I can get some of the same stress-relieving benefits from yoga and/or stretching/strength training where I am very focused on how my body is doing each move. Running doesn't make me feel good, but I admire anyone who can! Good luck when you do that half marathon!
