88elizabethcady88's Journal, 29 September 2014

I am not doing as great as I have done in the past. I have not instituted the same discipline, either as regards daily activity or in respect to meticulous journaling. Also, I am beginning to wonder about my scale, as one day I appear to have gained 2 lbs., and the next day to have lost the same 2 lbs., without being violently ill or significantly changing my intake or activity. This is crazy-making (not a word, but it expresses my meaning).

Same with the water--I am definitely getting better about drinking it, but I need to find a good way to remind myself. I have no objection to drinking water, don't need to add any flavorings, etc. (and I actually prefer the taste of plain water), but it just doesn't always seem worth the trouble to interrupt what I'm doing to get up for it. But that is another habit I have to break, so I think there is no help for it, really. Just. Do. It. Anyway.

Saturday was a deliberate day off anyway, and yesterday was a not-really-intentional-but-I-didn't-give-a-flying-fling day off. But I wasn't totally ridiculous about it. Will be taking off 18th Oct., but will try to toe the line until then.

It's a new week, and a new opportunity. We can so totally do this. Good luck to me, and all my fellow travelers!

I find that just bringing a water bottle with me to work makes a big difference in my water intake. If I don't bring it, I don't make the effort to find any, but if I remember I find I'm looking to fill it up half way through the day. :)

I have noticed that the day AFTER a day that I did not drink much water I have weight gain. And when I get on the scale following a good water intake day I usually weigh less. I have also found that recording my weight everyday can be a little depressing. I step on the scale everyday just to keep tabs on myself but usually only record once a week. Then when I look back at my progress I have seen a more gradual decline rather than the ups and downs of the week. I must admit, It will be a challenge to record every day for this 8 week challenge. Hang in there.
