performance: losing 2.2 lb a week

I am a mother of 2: a precocious little three year old boy and an adorable 8 month old girl. I am married to a wonderful man, who supports me in my weight loss goal. And I am an eternally optimistic person. I have started on a dieting adventure with my mother and sister-in-law in hopes of beginning a healthier lifestyle that sets a positive example for my children as they grow. I had just under 50lbs to lose to be back at my first year university weight, which was when I felt the best about myself. Now, only 10 lbs to go, though I may still adjust my goal. Wish me continued success everyone! I would say luck, but it takes a lot more than luck to succeed at this type of task. I look forward to chatting with many of you during this process.

I am 5'7" and my goal is 155. I could wear a bikini at that weight previously, though my body has changed now with 2 kids, so we'll see about that. I am a curvy person. I don't remember wearing anything under a size 14 since early high school. even my bikini was size 14. That's just how I'm built and I'm proud of my curves. I think it is possible I may go as low as 150 but I don't want to lose my chest particularly, so definitely no lower than that. I think it's a good reminder for all of us that a weight that's good for one person may not be the same for another, even if they are the same height.
Thinking about it I'm pretty sure my mom weighed 140 at most at my age and that was good for her, but like i said not for me. something to ponder.

Fell "Off the wagon" over the holidays, but now back with the program!
Keep leaning on the Lord. He will carry you through. And when you get that surgery and dance with your husband, He'll celebrate with you. God bless!

What are some of your embarassing/emotional/eye opening reasons for loosing weight?
I decided that my family wouldn't be one of the one's walking around that you look at the overweight parents and then scan across to the kids that are already headed the same direction.
My 3 yr old son got a little belly, that went away as soon as he shot up a couple inches, but I looked at that and said NO! I am stopping the cycle before it starts.
I WILL be a healthy example for my children.
