Happy Tuesday buddies!!! Today's journal is dedicated to the discoveries I have made today:

1. Drinking alcohol is bad, I drank over the weekend and it has dramatically SLOWED my progress. Argh.

2. I can FINALLY comfortably fit into the VS racerback bras I bought before Christmas. Woohoo for me! No more quad-boob! Sorry, hubby.....

3. There is zero point in asking my moronic coworker for documentation or even knowledge of an extremely important sample he ran in April. Nope.

4. I burned 2x the calories run/walking the 2 miles I JUST walked yesterday, must remember this!

5. My Fitness Pal sucks. I HAVE to use it to log my food for my Body Media armband and it is impossible to understand. It doesn't let you log your total burned calories just for the day unless you make it up and then the "net calories" doesn't make sense either. Dumb.

6. DO NOT EXPERIMENT when you bring lunch to work and only have half an hour to eat it (hence you cannot go anywhere else to get something better). I couldn't figure out why I bought a can of bean sprouts so I decided to try "Bean Sprout" spaghetti for lunch having never tried it before. I am not a fan but I HAVE to eat it because that's all I have plus I remembered why I bought them, for the recipe I was planning on making tonight. DOH!

7. Don't sit at work looking at puppies in shelters with their big ole' eyes, it'll just break your heart. They're so stinkin' cute though!!!

I think that's it...there's my day in a nut shell...sigh...

Now wait...how can something as delicious and wonderful as alcohol ever be bad? As long as you don't overdo it...

I really didn't overdue it...I had 4 drinks Friday, 4 drinks Saturday...after not having ANY for like 3 weeks...I'm just looking for a scapegoat...sorry alcohol, don't hate me!

An endocrinologist once told me that as little as one alcoholic drink can slow your metabolism up to 70% for the following 24-48 hours, especially for women! I had to give up alcohol, and I was going to grad school to be a winemaker! I ended up dropping out of school to focus on my wellness instead. It's been well worth the sacrifice! I feel AMAZING now!

I have been drinking so much liquid to flush it out....I am losing bit by bit but not nearly as quickly since then...idk perhaps I'm in a plateau...

And why on earth would anyone buy CANNED bean sprouts? I've never seen them before. I grow all of my own sprouts at home in my kitchen. It's super easy, INCREDIBLY cheap, and they're a powerhouse of nutrients! I can't imagine how the canned ones must taste! Blech!

HAHA, they weren't great, I will admit...I had randomnly bought them last time at the grocery store because I was looking at the Asian cuisine section for rice noodles...I remembered seeing them in some recipe somewhere, it was an impulse buy...regretably lol

Sweeet2th I didn't know that. No wonder every diet recommends to stay away from alcohol. Luckily I hate it and never drink it.

And just in case you need another reason to steer clear of The Sauce, it isn't just the calories in alcohol or the metabolic effects it has, but take a moment and think about how it affects your ability to make wise decisions. I know I've thrown caution to the wind on MANY occasions after a few cocktails and inhaled a massive cheesesteak or 6 donuts because of the way alcohol lowers your inhibitions. Food for thought.

Yeah, I'm mighty grateful that I no longer crave alcohol. I deal better with life when I'm not wishing I could just "have a couple" to unwind and/or forget my problems. Besides, the lower cal drinks gave me heartburn and the ones I loved were high in calories.

You are right Eddie and congratulations on being sober. That is a big achievement. A lot of people have a drink to unwind after a stressful day like my friend does. They think that they are in control, that they can stop when they want to but sometimes that's not the case unfortunately.

Good Advise I norma;;y bring my lunch usually small amount of leftovers or Can of Chunky Soup, Bag of Popcorn (Fiber) or some of the Hormel meals are actually good and filling and about 210-270 Calorie wise. I must have that same Co-worker you have did they clone her?

HIM...did they turn your coworker into a guy during the cloning process RF? ugh.......I had a nice weekend, no I don't have a drinking problem...I do enjoy some cocktails with my friends and it was a celebratory weekend so I will take the slowed metabolism for a bit of fun...congrats to you Eddie, amazing job!
