This past week marked 4 months since I have changed the way I approach food and diet. I must say I am quite impressed with myself. I don't even "try" and by no means am I on a "diet". I make decisions smartly when it comes to eating and if I want something I will eat it but know to do it in moderation. I really have gotten to where I don't like to eat out anymore - it makes my stomach hurt and I don't like the way it makes me feel. Below is a list of accomplishments I have succeeded in since my "new found journey".
#1- I no longer take any medication for high blood pressure. I use to take 40mg of Lisinopril and 20mg of Atenolol.
#2 - To date I have lost 55 pounds since October 27th.
#3 - I no longer stress or binge eat. I can't say the feeling is totally gone yet because I still feel it - I just choose to ignore it.
#4 - I walk 4-5 miles every other day and ride 6 miles on a bicycle on the other days (along with 1 mile on treadmill).
#5 - Yesterday, I rode 4 miles on the Virginia Creeper Trail without stopping!!! I have not rode a bike non stop since I was a child!! I cried at the end because I was over-joyed.
#6 - I motivated my youngest brother to also lose weight - we have been the heaviest siblings for 20+ years and before long we will be at an average rate like our other 2 brothers. I am so proud of him; he has lost 40 pounds.
#7 - I wore size 28 pants for about 4 years, before that I wore size 24 for over 10. Friday, on our "casual" day at work, I wore a size 22 jeans. I was so happy.
#8 - Since November 11th - when I started here on fatsecret and a life change - I stopped drinking caffeine. I do not drink any form of soda, tea, energy drinks. I only drink water, milk, juice and occasionally G2 Gatorade ( when I need something different flavoring).
#9 - Everyday, I always make sure I eat a banana and apples. I am allergic to a lot of fruits so I make sure to pack this in my lunch so I will have fruits.
#10 - Also, everyday I pack enough food in my lunch box for breakfast, snack, lunch, snack. I haven't bought out of a vending machine at work in over a year!
#11 - I was battling digestive problems in late December - January. After researching what the issue could be I realized I wasn't drinking enough water - I make sure I get in enough water, and fiber to keep me "regular". If I don't get enough fiber in foods I take fiber supplements.
#12- I don't eat out often. My husband and I travel a lot so there are times we do. I also have my app ready to go on my blackberry and know what my calorie limits are and make decisions based off of it.
#13 - I have lost 5 inches off my waist!
#14 - My glasses no longer push into the side of my face. Now, I have a gap between my face and the stem of my glasses. (weird one eh?)
#15 - I can reach behind my back and scratch my lower back! I know the ones of you who have had this issue understand. Nothing like being able to reach behind you and touch your butt crack..LMAO - I had to throw that in here :)
#16 - I no longer need my husband to put my socks on each morning or tie my shoes. I can now cross both of my legs and do it fine MYSELF!
#17 - I can paint my own toe nails again!
#18 - I had to have back surgery last May. The doctor told my husband and one of my good friends if I didn't lose A LOT of weight I will always have back problems. Since I have started losing weight - my back no longer bothers me.
#19 - At night while in the bed - I do not have to roll over to change sides - I can once again FLOP over..LOL...My husband no calls me "flopper" at night
#20 - I don't "crave" sugary foods anymore. Every once in awhile I would just like to have some. There is no more of running out to the gas station or to my moms OR having my husband bring me something home. I just don't think about it.
I can't think of anything else right now...All I have on my mind is going for a walk..LOL
