I'm feeling a little bit out of it. Went a little overboard on 4th of July weekend with the eating and drinking- (cookies! Ice cream! Gin! Wine!) but had lots and lots of exercise, too: 3 hour hike! Big long walk! 2 hours gardening!
I ended up bloated, tired and mad at myself.
This week I have taken time away from the gym. I'm really burned out on the 4:30 AM wake up time and... it's just really hard. I'm doing a week long Continuing Ed seminar this week and my routine is all messed up so I'm taking this week to relax a bit and walk for an hour each morning, instead of the gym. This morning I saw a beaver, a deer and a blue heron. Pretty great.
I still feel bloated and have not weighed myself. I know that if the scale is up ( and I'm sure that it will be) that I will be mad...

Treadmills are great, but outdoor walking and seeing animals, birds and plants is calming. I enjoy seeing other people walking and biking. Go you!

I noticed you are a person of the cloth...I am not really overly religious, but I do find that being out walking in nature brings me more peace, awe and more of a closeness to God than the treadmill :)

If you were coaching someone else would you be mad at them for being human? I don't think so. You would give them a pep talk and remind them that their reason for being on this earth is not just to lose weight. This is a process, a life process in which there are ups and downs. This is one of your downs. But remember to count your blessing such as - you HAVE a gym membership, you have legs to walk, and you have the means to take a seminar. You also live in an area with wildlife and it also sounds as if you had people around you that love you on the 4th. Sorry for such a long post but you have a lot to be thankful for. :)
