aggie95's Journal, 02 June 2014

Thanks for all the support FS buddies in regards to my Friday journal. I went home, simmered down and decided that my lunch break was mine and I was still going to run. So, I kinda snuck around a bit by going down to the basement washroom, changing and then going out the back door. Did my usual block of 3.5km, came back thru the back door, splashed some water on my face, changed (totally dripping in sweat) and went back to my desk. I have a fan blowing air on me and I'm slowing cool down. But at least I got my run in!!!

So we'll see if anything gets said....

I just read your Friday journal, and that seems so silly. Wouldn't they want you to go do something healthy for your break. My bosses don't care what I do, as long as I take my break. I hope you don't have any backlash for doing something good for yourself. Crazy policies!

Good for you. I've been thinking about your situation all weekend. You know, I could understand the policy being more of a 'dress code' violation than a 'hey, you're exercising on your lunch hour' issue. I'd say if you changed for your run "out of the office" (so to speak) that would be a good compromise. Good luck my dear. Wish I could personally be in your corner when you do discuss this with HR.

Seriously?? I could see if you were prancing around reception in spandex but I doubt that's what you're doing. I say exercise. It's your time not theirs. If they did say anything go running in your work clothes, don't change, and see what they think of that. lol

Good for you! I would have done the same thing. It is your time not theirs.
