Bubble wrapper

This journal is meant for people who already lost a lot of weight. People who lost only a little weight, or are at the beginning of their journey will not know what i'm talking about...

I have lost 25+ kilo, and when i stand in front of a mirror i usually pinch my tummy, my hips, underneath my arms, and all the well-known fat storage places, that are starting to droop, but not yet flat... So the other day i pinched my tummy again, and at the bottom of the loose skin, i felt underneath my skin, a sort of bubble. Ok immediately alerted to having cancer i started to explore every part of my body for more bubbles, and i found them... LOADS of them... In every lose skin there where bubbles, big as a pingpongball and small as a beebee-gun bullet...

And then i pinched one, and it popped, and the bubble was gone...

And i started to pinch every bubble i could find, some popped and went away, some where hard like a rock and did not pop. Most of the soft popping ones, i did not even have to pinch that hard... Now because i tried to pop the bigger ones too i have some blue- marks on my skin but other then that, there are no signs of the bubbles ever have been there, except for the big rocks that are still there...

since that day, i pinch myself everyday, trying to pop the big ones, seems to me i am popping old cells containing fat, spreading the fat so my body can do away with it, but really there is NO sign on the scale it is working (*lol*) and i have no idea WHAT it is i am popping.

Now i been googling this phenomena, and i KNOW i'm not the only one!!!

so have a nice "popping" day everybody!
greetz maud.

Yikes Maud. Seriously, I never had it, but will google it to see what it's all about. Who knows, maybe the roll below the belly button is actually a big bubble of fat and all I need to do is give it a big squeeze.

That actually sounds like fun :) seriously, though, I remember having heard you need professional massage like once a week when you lose a lot of weight, maybe that is the reason...

I've done massage but they only do my back. A belly massage? I just might like that.

http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html Not sure if the above link will help but it seems to talk about the same thing.

I guess that is called a "fat draining massage" and they sometimes use an electrical vibrating/pressurizing massage head in addition to hand massage...

dearby.... couldn't bring up the site. FS doesn't allow us to post full addy's. I did google fat draining massage and it talks about the lymphatic system and riding the body of waste. Now to find someone who will massage my, well, various parts of my body. :~)

All I do is squeeze whats left of the ol' rolls, but no bubbles found. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon!

I have never heard of the bubbles thing. I think you should ask your physician what they are. I hope they're temporary and keep up the good work on your weight loss :)

Could be cysts.

Sounds like Subcutaneous Emphysema to me. It's normally related to trauma, so if you haven't had any trauma lately I would go into a doctor, because there may be an underlying cause of an infection that can cause gas to build up and can be quite severe if left untreated. It isn't related to weight loss and a similar symptom is something seen in surgery, but has a slightly different name. If you haven't had any trauma or surgery I would urge you to see a care provider about it to make sure it isn't being caused by infection.

possibly pockets of cellulite? check with your doctor. he's the pro on this stuff.

I also googled it. Freakin' scary. And cellulite doesn't form like that. Cellulite are dents in the skin, not bumps or bubbles. Got it and have cursed them even when thin.

I have a lipoma on my thigh but I never tried to pop it. I pressed on it and it didnt feel like it would pop.

What you are describing is Subcutaneous Emphysema. The underlying cause could be harmless or not is the only thing in doubt. I recognized it from a patient I use to have that had it after a surgery, I had to look up the name of what your version would be though. As it's different then the surgery version. Gas bubbles forming under the skin or in tissue is Subcutaneous Emphysema.

Yeah, like CalynLZ said, there is a condition where bubbles form under the skin. In patients who have punctured a lung and have a tube with a pump creating vacuum conditions to allow the lung to keep inflated, we as nurses were expected to check the surrounding tissues around the tube entry for "crepidus," the rice krispies type sound of trapped air that could indicate the tube is leaking air into the tissues. In your case, don't think it is likely to be dangerous, but if you happen to see your doctor in the next few weeks, mention it. Let us know what you find out!

ok, now normally i'm the joker here, remember, stop fooling around with me (*lol*). I'm sure i do not have something like that, last trauma i had was over 20 years ago (*lol*) BTW i have a very attractive young doctor, i dont want to discust him with the left-over fatbubbles in the lose skin of this old hag, not if i can help it (*lol*)
