Last week I joined a new challenge: TRUST FALL (the weight loss version)
the first week ends in 12 minutes......here's what I have learned:

1)Foods *truly do* harm or heal the human body!
When I began this lifestyle transformation in Sept. 2013(7 mths ago) my body was in constant pain.Still or in motion it ached all the time. So much in fact that I hardly slept. Very soon after joining this family of friends I began partaking of a different way of eating: Avoiding white foods (sugar, potatoes, rice, bread, flour, etc.) Almost instantly my aches & pains disappeared.......Now they are coming back.

2) A body in motion tends to stay in motion, while a body at rest tends to be put to rest.
It may be words on a commercial but caring for FIL I see the truth in them every day.(Altho' he is more active now than when Keeper & I moved in earlier last year!)But back to what I have learned this week....while *I* have been in motion it has not been the "needed" motion. In fact, not much of my motion has been the needed motion this challenge or my transformation requires.
Just as a person who is an addict or substance abuser realizes their way of life is harmful& desires to change it so they go to rehab to learn life skills that will aid them in transforming their life for the better, leaving that "safe house" too early will prove detrimental to the individual & they wind back on the curb they crawled off of.....Thats where I'm heading again.

I am not ready to give up the things that are designed to support & encourage the very behaviors that I wish to learn & adopt as a way to a better life.(The scales, measuring tape, the graphs & charts.....the NUMBERS) I still need them....& if they in fact do *help* me to reach the lifestyle I'm on this journey for, then WHY would I want to give them up?

Maybe. MAYBE. I wont need them later.Maybe I will. But we're reuniting & I joined a different challenge. One that still encourages all the goals of the last one but doesn't require me to say good-bye(even for a short while) to my scale. :D

Hey TIC, I am proud of you for acknowledging what is best for you. The Trust Fall Challenge is a great one but like any of the challenges out there you have to get a feel of if it’s the right for you. And like you said not at this time but maybe down the road. Tell the scale I said hello. Best wishes and have a wonderful weekend. :-)

Good for you on the introspection. This journey would be worthless if we didn't learn along the way. Learning is the uel for true transformation.

I agree, JENN. Without the learning process of it,which btw is my favorite part :D I doubt any of my efforts would prove worthwhile as they would,I have no doubt, fall by the wayside. The learning is what will make my efforts PERMANENT! :D

I agree definitely a learning process. Great that you are learning what works for you. Am in the same boat...was not hurting was starting everyday walking on my gazelle (no impact). Have not been dragging myself out of bed early so have been skipping that, knees are hurting again. Time to pay attention to my own advice and walk away the pain.
