Lauren,
I am so happy your surgery went well, best thing to do is get up and start walking around today and kind of stretching, I had hernia surgery in January and was back to 100% 2 weeks later the doctor said it was because I was old school and didnt lay around for two weeks doing nothing it was because I got up the next day and started walking around and strecthing you go for a walk around a store nothing hard and fast just a stroll. :) glad it went good.

I am glad your surgery went well. I have a hernia that was discovered when my then surgeon took out my gall bladder. He told me to let him know when I want to have that fixed. *grimaces* Guess since I have insurance he wanted additional fee. You posting what it is like after this type of surgery gives us that need that done a heads up as to what we might go through. Thank you for sharing as I have wondered what it would be like when I had my hernia fixed.

LorLie2014 it really is probably the least painful surgery ive ever had and ive had many. please dont wait too long because it will only get worse. i waited 3 years to get mine fixed and i was told yesterday that it was basically the size of like a jelly jar lid. and all kinds of organs were slipping through it. if u wait it could become what they call strangulated where the organs go through it but cant get back out of it that is severely dangerous to have happen. its general anesthesia which means u will probably be completely knocked out for the whole thing. the surgery only took about 2 hours and i was awake shortly after that and able to hold down some ginger ale and crackers. went home about 45 mins later and was walking and eating pretty normally just a little slow. but today i feel great just tired from now sleeping. the pain really isnt even pain just mildly uncomfortable but nothing u really have to worry about. ive only taken 3 pain pills since i got home yesterday afternoon and one of them was just so i could get comfortable enough to get some sleep. i highly recommend having the surgery asap. again this is just how my experience has been but i shouldnt have waited this long and yours could be different but dont see how it could be worse by much if at all.

Laurenwisswell82: I am so glad your surgery went well. Do take time to recover before you actively diet. You can be consciencious but do take it easy. Take care!
