5 days this week displaying green arrows pointing down!!! Tomorrow is weigh-in...my goal is to hit 174.7....we will see :D

I dont feel as confident as I had for the last 2 weeks as I ate out more than usual then I injured myself so didnt exercise as hard & got sick & did nothing a couple of days....but I did my best under the circumstances & will be happy with whatever the outcome :D

Also I have been cataloging photos of myself each month so as to not overlook changes being made that I may otherwise not notice :D plus ...
I *never* want to forget what I am accomplishing ...

I so agree with your quote - hard to find the balance between reflecting on history and dwelling on the failures of it.. isn't it?

Sometimes when you are busy doubting yourself, you don't realize you are already accomplishing your goals. Hopefully you it your goal this week but if not at least you know why and can fix what you fax fix next week and what you can't fix i guess you just have to say oh well better luck next time. I have also been taking pics each week from when I started, have seen some minor changes but that is always better than nothing they say "it takes 4 weeks for you to see the change in yourself 8 weeks for those close to you to see the change and 12 weeks for everyone else to see it"

Congrats! It sounds like you've got a great positive mindset going into this, which makes a big difference. I love the idea of monthly photos! I may need to start doing that ;)

BELLA...true :D I try to remember that if my thoughts are *positive* of the past they will urge me to go forward in my pursuits & thus are beneficial reflections but if my thoughts are *negative* of the past they will urge me to back away from my pursuits & then I know I am *dwelling* & keeping that in the forefront I find it somewhat easier to stay or get balanced. :D Sometimes its a tight rope but one worth walking since I tend to get better the more I do it. :D

NRMCLEAN...I agree when we doubt ourself we usually don't see what we are or have accomplished. Thankfully I am aware of my successes along the way,physical,mental,spiritual,etc...however, LOL,it's not quite so simple for me to shrug it off & say"oh well, better luck next time!" :D because I don't believe my results, whether they move forward,go backward,or stand still, are determined that way.I would be so frustrated if all the work I put in to eating right & exercising & avoiding things that make it harder for me to reach my goals didnt really matter because fate/luck/chance was the deciding factor. If I were to believe it so,I wouldn't put forth efforts at all. I believe what determines my results are directly related to what I do or dont do....but I do appreciate the thought behind your comment which was meant to keep me encouraged in case I didnt reach my weekly target weight,I believe. :D Thank you :D I didnt make it,but as I said,I'm happy with whatever I see on the scale because I did my best in the circumstances I had this week. :D Isnt that the best any of us can hope for?

KITTY....Pictures along the way are so helpful & can be encouraging! I hope you do start them :D Im trying to figure out how to put them together on a split screen so I can better compare & see the changes & make notes of progress & adjustment.

I'm not sure what programs you have available on your computer, but I know its easiest for me to use photoshop, create a new document twice as long as one of the photos (assuming they're both the same size and orientation) and then paste them in side-by-side. I'm sure its something you can do in MS Paint if you don't have any other image editing software on your computer.

yes, in the ms paint program you can do the same thing, open one photo in paint then go to edit and "paste from" it'll bring up the search box and paste the 2nd photo into the document and move it to where you want. then you can add a text box to put date and weight info if you want -- and yes the better luck next time comment was to encourage you if you didn't make your goal but more because of the fact that you were sick and had a lot thrown at you this past week that were out of your control but I am sure you will put the pedal to the medal this week coming lol :)

I use a free program called GIMP that is very much like photoshop, it takes a bit to figure out how to use it but I have been able to make 1 large panoramic of each of my progress photos which I put a weight and date stamp on at the bottom. Its pretty amazing to look at how out body changes during the process, and keeps the motivation up!
