I am back again with another tack. I had moderate success with Atkins until a gall bladder attack made me rethink that WOE. Then I tried the 5:2 for minute, but just couldn't follow through. On Oct 31 I went to my Dr to discuss my options and she allowed me to be on a diet pill called Adipex. I took them back in the 90's with decent results, but being young, I didn't make good use of the opportunity to develop good habits. Therefore, the good was undone quickly. In the state of Ohio you can only be on them for three months. I don't expect a quick fix by using these. Rather I hope to use them as a tool to develop healthier habits that will be well established by the time I no longer have them. They have done wonders for my appetite control and I do notice feeling full a lot sooner. I am hyper aware at every meal of how much I eat now compared to what I used to eat. For example, where I used to eat a whole plate of food, I find myself pushing it away after only eating half. I used to feel deprived when I forced myself to do this, but now I feel satisfied instead. The only problem I am having is that they work almost too well. I have had a few days when I have eaten almost nothing because I am not hungry at all. On the surface that sounds great, but I know logically it isn't. I don't want to slow my metabolism down by not eating. I am going to work on that.
