Cindy Thompson's Journal, 03 December 2010

Saw the doctor this morning. Just getting back. The good news or the bad news? He was really happy with my weight loss and blood work-up. Still need to keep active this winter to keep losing. My heart is sad for you regarding the fractures... Ugggh - not a good thing to experience just after your resolve to "keep active this winter to keep losing." Those injuries take some time to fix themselves, as the corrective boot is about the only treatment...and maybe physical therapy. Maybe you can get Mcmad's rump-buster-vibrating-thing-a-magiggy and you can jiggle your buns away for the next several weeks so you don't have to walk. LOL -- I am completely overjoyed that your blood work shows such impressive improvements resulting from your WOE and weightloss. I know it must've felt good to have doc gush over your successes. :D (Hoping my doc will do the same - I put off my next exam til end of Jan to give me more time to work on myself so I can WOW her! Hee hee) Praying for you - Believing in you - and honking for you mightily, friend. <><

Thanks Evie. Did you hear that Leanne. I'll have to come over there to borrow the boot and rump-buster-vibrating-thing-a-ma-jig. Praying for your success too. Honk, honk. We Can Do It With God's Help!

Yes indeed take care of yourself so your leg/legs can heal! Be careful staying active that you don't cause further injury!

Thanks Pixi! Do you know any crutches exercises? I'm sure that the physical therapist will have some for me.

Thanks Myree! What can I do? No, what is it that I can't do? So, I have to cut back on the exercise. That means less calories too. How am I going to do this? With God's Help!

Oh, Cindy a fractured arm AND leg? You poor dear...did they cast both of them? I am praying for you and hope that you are able to heal rapidly and without any complications. Are you taking a calcium/vit D supplement? If not, I think you should start. This is the age that our bones begin to weaken, and we are more prone to breaks and fractures. On a brighter note, congratulations on your wonderful doctor's visit. 88 pounds since January is absolutely fantastic...you are only 12 pounds away from the century mark! How exciting is that? w00t!!!! Take care, dear friend, and be careful! I am sending a prayer request to my church prayer warriors that you will be healed rapidly and completely! Much love, and {{{{{{gentle hugs}}}}}}!

Thanks Steph! No casts. Just a boot and a thing to imoblize my arm and wrist. This sling stinks. Started taking a calcium supplement this past summer I think? Thank you for the encouragemnt and especially the prayers. What to do when I hit the century mark? It's still a ways away. Need to look to the next goal. Hugs to you to Sis. Cindy bless your heart. How long did the doctor give you about your healing? Hope your feeling better soon. Now I am really scared to go to the basement. We have no handrails.

How did you wait until your appointment with two fractures? You must have been in terrible pain. I'm sure God will help you through this time of suffering. "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." II Corinthians 12:9

Thanks BHA! They have put an order in for 6 months of therapy. I sure hope that it doesn't take that long.

Pain has been a part of my life for a long time Runesinger. I sometimes feel like I'm taking one step forward and two or three steps back. At least that is how I am feeling today. I have to look to God to help me get through this one too. Thanks again for your encouragement. We Can Do It With God's Help!

I hope you feel better before 6 months. Just hang in there honey. God will not let you suffer more than you can bare. He is so good that way. Bren

Oh, Cindy - so sorry to hear about the fractures, etc. Praying for a speedy recovery, my friend!!! Great news on the rest of your visit though!!! No worries...you will come through this just fine! One day at a time...and walking is a great exercise for this WOE...and your legs are not hurt, right? So perhaps in awhile you will feel like restarting some activity through that method. Love.
