BuffyBear's Journal, 26 October 2013

27 degrees this morning! Unusually cold for NC this time of year. The animal's water bowl was even frozen over. But, not to worry - critters all slept inside last night.

My Saturday is boring to write about. However I am grateful to have a day to run errands and to do so at a leisurely pace. I get enough deadlines Monday through Friday.

Am headed out to the kitchen to start making a big pot of soup. Can't think of a better lunch on a cold day.

Wow, that is a bit on the chilly side, isn't it? Time to get the quilts out.

ClassicRocker - I took the last of the summer clothes out of my closet this morning. Time to break in the new boots.

whew - that is chilly for North Carolina! Minnesota...not so unusual. Soups sounds great. What do you do to avoid too much salt?

A great big pot of soup will get that home of yours all nice and warmed up. I can smell it from here!

HCB... just posted in my journal about my experiment and water. DRink it. Lots and lots of it. Flushes it out of your system. I'm doing 8-10 oz. every hour. Roughly 110oz./day or more if I exercise. Bella drinks 1 to 1 1/2 gallons/day.

HCB - Salt doesn't bother me. It is the nitrates in food that makes me swell up. There are a lot more nitrate free meats than there used to be but it is still a challenge shopping!

Sandy - I figure even bad homemade soup is better than the soggy canned stuff.

Even when I was "skinny"... hhmmmm said the "s" word. Well, I had difficulty getting boots to fit over calfs. Not heifers. Doubt if I could get into them now.
