moondove's Journal, 30 September 2013

I need to get my calories up, but I do not feel hungry. I actually feel really kicked-started. It's been so long since I have done Atkins that I'm gonna have to read my book over again, and take a look at my recipes. I cleaned the pantry and fridge and restocked with whole foods. Tried to talk my husband into low carb, but he will have no part of it. Ughhh... So, I will have to work out the kinks in preparing for both of us. Him low fat, and me low carb. I can do it!

I have been reflecting on my marriage and feel that I am not doing my part as a wife. I remembered what it was like when we first met and were dating (and how much less I weighed). He loves me very much and I need to return that love with being the best person I can be. We have a recreational boat and a motorcycle for two, just sitting. I've gotta get with it so I can enjoy these things with my husband while we are still young enough.

I am in the same boat! hubby won't do low carb...I cook basic low carb entrees and just cook up a carb for him (potato, pasta, rice) that way I don't have to eat it but he still gets it and I am not cooking totally different meals. Good luck!

Hi Moondove - long time no see! As for DH - do what I do: Make the usual yummy meals and cook just one extra side dish for him. My hubby loves my pork in mushroom and sour cream gravy (rice on the sie), taco salad (chips on the side), etc. He has absolutely no idea he is eating diet food and tells everybody what a great cook I am - LOL!

Bren, Thank you for the welcome home! :) We had baked chicken last night. I marinated it in some salad dressing. It tasted so good, then I realized it tasted sweet. What I thought was '0' Carb dressing, turned out to be '9' Carbs. Ugh... I had to bake another piece! LOL!
