Patience, lol! You know with weight loss we don't always see what we think we deserve right away. Maybe you are retaining some water right now. It will drop.

Thanks, Suz! I'm pretty sure it's water retention and 'food movement' issues. Happens at least once a week to me. Appreciate the prep talk!

Hey Bill, some past sin is catching up with you perhaps? Likely something salty like Suzi said? You will likely weigh in tonight so fingers crossed for a drop. How are the pipes? (TMI?) Our bodies are strange and wonderful things aren't they? Re your radio blog - I did listen for a few minutes - I have little to no spare time these days :) Why on earth did I think you were English? Did I get that wrong? I was so surprised to hear an American on the radio! No less lovely, you have a nice voice but I was shocked when it wasn't 'limey'. Anyway, goodness knows where I picked up the fact that I thought you were an ex pat like me. I appreciate you sending me the link. You have a very busy active life, don't know how you fit it all in!!! How is your brother doing? It is early days yet so I am sure he is still in shock and feels awful but just sending out love in the airwaves :) Hugs hun, hoping for weight loss for you. I am on the border between 189/190 depending on how I jiggle my body on the scale so not where I wanted to be but much better than it was :) So all in all I'm happy with the number. If I could see a solid 188/189 before I leave on Saturday night I would be even happier :) So I'll cross my fingers, toes, eyes, everything - for both of us.

Hey, while I was chatting to you, you were chatting to me! Wish this was more like FB, more kinda 'instant' where we see who is on and what's going on, more quickly!

Thanks! No, all American, born and raised in Cleveland area but moved to DC for work after the Navy. I have visited and really enjoyed England, but that's it until you get way back in my ancestry. I had a large flavored sparkling water last night. Lots do aspartame, but no cals or sodium. But that may be it. No TMI for me! In fact, I'm troubled in that way again. These fast days end up being low fat (nog on purpose; it just works out that way to get to the calorie total), so that us no doubt a contributing issue. Should see a drop tonight. Will add a few more cals at dinner.

Thanks for thoughts about my brother. He is actually looking at his own life and trying to improve. Quitting smoking, etc. My sisters are keeping after him to ensure he and the kids (well, they are all in their 20s) are ok.

Thanks for clearing up the US vs UK thing - I must have been having a 'blonde' moment - lol. No worries, I love you just as much xxxx And yes those low carb days are a bugger for the 'pipes'. I find probiotic yogurts are great for helping things along. Perhaps you could supplement with probiotics. They really help with consternation! Or so I hear. I will purchase some myself when I get back from Scotland. I have only done low cal day this week, the other have been 1200 calories. Don't want to go too low too many days as it becomes too comfortable mentally and my body doesn't respond to being that low that often. Anyway, lets see what happens with your weight tonight. Bet you can't weight to get to that 200 mark. What is your ultimate goal? I am sure it is in your bio but too lazy to go look :)

I am glad his sisters are looking out for him. That's what women day, we are 'caretakers'. And even though his 'kids' aren't technically 'kids' when you lose your mother you are never adult enough. It is all in God's plans but anything he can do to improve his health is a positive step. Just know he is in my thoughts and prayers (as of course are you sweetie :)

Thanks, Isabel. Included a Greek yogurt yesterday, have included daily wheat bran, and increased the water intake, so something's gotta give! Was doing exceedingly great until yesterday so should be ok. Ultimate goal is 180, although I'm going fir 190 by the end of the calendar year. I will be quite thin and fit if I make it.

Hey BP, here is a link from Mark's Daily Apple, a paleo/primal guy, about fiber, that I thought was a hoot but also an eye opener. You mention fiber a lot, and I too used to eat a lot of fiber but don't much now because of the calories and carbs. Anyway here is the article, enjoy. http://www.marksdailyapple.com... it looks like it copied all of the link :) Wow, 180-190 - I better getting moving - can't have you weighing less than me !!! And you are quite thin and fit now, in comparison to what you were and in comparison to many men these days. 220 isn't a bad weight for a man at all and in your FB pics you look fabulous!

s##t, it didn't copy the whole link - damn it, why does it do that, freakin pisses me off Lets try this again. http://www.marksdailyapple.com... dietary-fiber-is-bad-for-sex-t... about-it-that-isnt-a-myth/#axz... I've tried doing it in pieces so you will have to join them up

nope that didn't work. sigh. If you go to Mark's Daily Apple and search for an article that starts with "dietary fiber is bad for sex - that will take you to it. It's quite funny and quite enlightening. Let me know what you think :)

I will also post the link on my journal page - that usually works :)
26 Sep 13 by member: sarahsmum
Thanks, Isabel. I will google the remainder of the link. Appreciate the kind comments. My target is to get to my BMI. I know that varies and is suspect at times, but I was 180 at my most fit (although I was 19). Still got some flab to lose!
26 Sep 13 by member: Draglist
180 at 19 - well, that was then and this is now so you will find a comfortable weight for you I am positive. And flab, yep, I got that too. The more I lose the flabbier, softer and yukier I get. I hate looking at myself in my undies, not a pretty sight - sorry TMI - but the alternative, of having the flesh filled in with fat, is not healthy. So I will be thinner and just put up the loose stuff. I just don't have the courage to have skin removal done like Keld did. Of course I am no where near that stage yet, I got a lot more to lose. I am aiming for 175 but I likely should be about 150 but I figure at my age (57 but shhhh don't tell) that if I see 175 again I;ll be a freakin' happy camper. And you are welcome re the compliments. You look great. I think we forget sometimes how much we have lost and how good we look, now. We didn't look bad then but the 'smaller' versions of us are much better. Now, I really gotta go and pretend to do some work!

Thanks! It's a goal but I'm definitely seeing that it is slow going.
26 Sep 13 by member: Draglist
Thanks for the link to the fiber article. Very interesting read and I just bought a whole bunch of wheat bran in bulk! : ) Going to continue to try different things. I also read KingKeld's post about not eating too little... I'm currently at about 1400 calories per day for the month and that is about a 1150 decifit at my current weight. Perhaps I'll try to eat a little more or add a little more olive oil to the things I eat. That should kill two birds with one stone... a few more calories and better digestion.
