Tomorrow we are heading for our final trip of the season to Florida. We always go to the same spots. And that's not a complaint. I am looking forward to the heat and being able to walk endlessly without a jacket on.
I look forward to some alone time with the hubster. I've been feeling very stressed and crabby the past few days so I think this will be a blessing.
I took my dogs in to the groomers today. They are getting older so the trip wore them out but they look beautiful and smell so pretty. They sure do prance once they've been groomed. Who says pets don't feel emotion. If you saw them today, you'd just chuckle. They've been strutting around all afternoon. And then napping...lol!
I had a nap too. I only got 6 hours of sleep last night. I got home from work at 2am and then up at 8am. This old girl needs her sleep too.
I am sipping a glass of blackberry brandy. Warms my soul. My toes are even tingling. Ahhh. One of life's simple pleasures. I should go and pack but I am not even sure I unpacked yet from our last trip.
When we get home, we will move righ into calving, planting, gardening and beekeeping. I love spring. Even when I don't get enough sleep.
The smell of damp dirt and growing things is like the earth's perfume. The time of the year when that earth smells damp like that just makes my heart sing! Spring is really here! You cannot help but feel better when the sun is out.
I saaw 3 eagles today. One was on a nest, one was on my way to the groomers and the final one was flying over the house. Such beauty!
Today I am thankful for:
* the eagles
* the promise of a new life
* vacation
* my beautiful old dogs. Geez I love those two critters.
