A couple of days ago, I began new vitamins (along with omega 3 fish oil capsule) and an over-the-counter hormonal therapy (for menopause) that my GYN told me to get, and now I am broke out in hives and itchy. I've taken benadryl (diphenhydramine) and it has knocked me on my banny=- hind! Can't stay awake to journal or visit my fs buddies. So, I'm off to get some sleep. I'll visit you all tomorrow and respond to posts.

Sorry that happened. Why don't you ask your GYN about bioidentical hormones? My insurance covers mine.

Buffy, I have read about the biodentical hormones. What is different about them than other HRTs? My previous GYN started me on HRT last year, I lasted 1 month. I don't remember the name off the top of my head, but after 3 weeks I experienced cramps and a wonderful period just as I did when I was 11 yrs old (I haven't had a period in over a year or more). I'm going to call my GYN on Monday and see what he can do for me. Darn, I think it is the Estroven's ingredient, 'black cohosh' that got to me. I've ceased taken anything and my hives are almost gone. I'm going to add back my vitamins and CoQ10 to see how I do. If I do fine, then I will assume it is the Estroven.

Bren, I'm thinking that it is the Estroven, in particular the herbal stuff, like black cohosh, still checking out the other possible culprits in it. I'm still doped up on benadryl, but the hives and itching are almost gone.
