Densible's Journal, 26 June 2008

It's almost 9.30PM and I am on my 12th hr of work. I ate pizza today and am sipping wine at my desk. I did manage a long walk/run in the morning and have done calisthenics in the office. My job is so horrible right now I want to cry. I am planning a new business so I can leave this drudgery behind. Unfortunately the economy and my personal fiances are not really conducive to such a departure. I am going to try it anyway because we go around just once (excepting Shirley MacLaine and friends-maybe we do reincarnate but my memory is so poor, I'd never remember) anyhoo, I have to get outta of this place!

BTW-I weighed 151 this morning-so much for the 140's!!! I know-hello-Pizza and wine is not going to get me there. How to keep on track when stress and schedule upheaval hits?

The random musings of a tired (so tired I may start hallucinating soon-and not in a good way) fellow traveller.

Stress can affect us in so many ways. Just hang in there and try to keep your goal in mind. Lately I've been tricking myself mentally, when I was at the market I went down the ice cream isle and was debating getting something when I told myself this... "You just need to turn away, walk away and in a few moments the desire will be gone"! that is how I make it through the markets, convenice stores and other places that place temptation at the checkout stand. You are just a few moments away from leaving it behind you (it works). Working late and the pizza thing..that just happens. I suppose one day we will figure out a better way to handle that. How come no one delivers the good salads!

Hang in there. It is hard to focus when you're stressed, but it is especially hard to focus on eating right. Just do the best you can, you're doing great on your graph! slow and steady wins the race.
