Djburney's Journal, 25 February 2013

Fun weekend, went to Flagstaff to listen to my friend's son's reggae band Saturday night with a bunch of college kids. It was so cold, and snowing! I'll remain in my desert home, thank you. it was 16 degrees when I got up yesterday morning, that is below my threshold.

I'm still not weighing myself and counting food, and it's pretty scary, but since I have a plan with "My Balanced Life," I think I will be ok. I can tell that i have put on a few lbs, but I have a lot to learn in order to lose it and keep it off forever. My next appointment is Thursday, and I have a homework assignment to complete before then. I really need this help.

I like Flag...through Sedona is a gorgeous drive. I am so happy you have found additional support out there. You will succeed, I can feel it!

It's amazing how we can adapt to our surroundings. When I lived in Winnipeg, -30C was "not bad" and now I find anything below -20C hard to take. It's all relative! I can't imagine that going on a beach vacation would hold the same lure for someone who lives in warmer climes year round as it would for someone who experiences the ice and snow of a northern winter. Do people who live in warmer places travel less? Or at least less to tropical resort areas? Your Balanced Life program sounds interesting. I hope it helps you make the changes to your habits and mindset to facilitate the results you want. Good luck!

Brrrr.....I could use a visit to the beach!! Still have that September wedding that is getting closer by the month. It is on the beach and hoping to be able to enjoy it much more with my new lifestyle changes. I know you will succeed on your new program, and I am wishing for warmer weather for BOTH of us!

Agreed - very scary but you're brave for going into it full on!

Scary yes I agree too, don't think I am strong enough to try, but admire you for doing it. Can't wait to hear more of how it works. In your journal you say "I can tell that i have put on a few lbs" Maybe the way to stay skinny is to really be in tune with our bodies that way. To know when to eat, and what to eat, without looking at the numbers on the scale. Looking forward to you teaching us all how to achieve this through your new balanced life :)
