Well, I think I about killed myself last night. That abs class was way harder than I thought it would be! It was basically just a bunch of different ways to do sit-ups, which I'm never been very good at. I am so sore this morning, I couldn't even make it for my walk. However, I am determined to walk this evening anyway. I just need to push past the ache. Trying to be extra good with my calories this week so that I can enjoy a yummy valentine's dinner with my hubby. We are planning to have an all-day date on Saturday while the grandparents watch the kiddos. Can't wait!! :)

Do go a little easier on yourself, but also working thru the ache will help lessen it. We did the same thing Sunday and yesterday. Work it thru to get your bod used to it!! core muscles are SO important! Great job on it, and have fun on Saturday!

Is there a way to strengthen your core muscles without starting with sit ups? I think I need to ease myself into them, and would like to find a softer exercise to start out with. 2 c-sections and December's surgery really gave my core muscles a beating, and I'd like to gently strengthen if possible!

Sit on an exercise ball whenever you can (watching TV, etc) - it will help strengthen your core without really knowing it! :) Also, planks. Do planks.

We did some planks last night. I am pretty good at those. I did those with my wii biggest loser work out. I had an exercise ball at one time. I need to pick up a new one.
The sit ups are just hard for me to do. I mean, in general, it's hard for me to sit up without rolling over on my side and pushing myself up to do so. Whenever I'm on my back, I feel like a beached whale, even with the 40lbs gone!

Sometimes the best way to get rid of the pain is to work through it, just don't push too hard. At least it's a good pain that means your body is working hard and you're getting healthier. Have fun on your date!

Great job on the sit-ups!! And yes they are going to hurt! I did an abs class until they canceled it, and I loved it. LOL...I was amazed how many ways there is to do a sit-up!! Who knew!! Keep on going sounds like you're doing great! Just remember to keep you lower back pressed into the floor and you'll be just fine! Woooo, great job!

Yeah, I think I must have been laying wrong or something. I expected my abs, belly, and arms to hurt, but my tailbone hurts too. When we were doing sit ups with our legs raised, I tried laying my hands underneath me to avoid using them to help lift me up, but other than that, I felt like I was mostly doing the same as everyone else. But everyone else just seemed to sit up so smoothly, whereas my sit up was alot jerkier, and obviously an effort, lol! Will it gets easier as time goes on? I mean, is it just the belly flab causing me to want to roll, or is it weak muscles...maybe a combination of both? Don't know. I've been analysing my performance all day trying to think how I could do it better, and get the most benefit from it!

Way to go! Hope you have a wonderful date day! I'm so jealous ;) P.S. sit ups get easier the more you do them

Hope you feel better, Holly. Sore core is good because you know it's working. Careful with the situps as they can hurt your back. I do them too though. And like Erika said, planks are fab. Do them everyday and you'll see such a difference.
