Day 33:

“To succeed you must first improve, to improve you must first practice, to practice you must first learn, to learn you must first fail.”

For the past week, I have eaten out 4 times. Three of those times has been to places I should have never went into, such as LongHorn Steak House and Hardee's. One of those time, I went to Subway, which is generally okay to eat once in a while. But not when you go for the entire $5 footlong and bag of baked chips. I have been seriously slacking this week. I don't know what is going on with me. I have not exercised at all. I have a half-assed attempt at recording my food intake for the week. And I have not been eating the right foods and/or portion sizes. This is the normal time period that I give up on my diet and revert back to my old ways. But I really don't want to do that this time. So, I am going to make a better effort to push myself these next few days to get myself back in the right frame of mind. Any encouraging words from my FS buddies would be greatly appreciated.

Hang in there Jessie and keep trying. I know it's hard to break our bad habits and start new ones. However, you have been so successful before. You really inspired me in the walk challenge! Maybe to help get you back into the state of mind you should just tell yourself you are going to walk. Plain and simple, don't make it complicated. Don't set a time or distance or duration, just do it. And it will feel SO good that it will inspire you to get hold of the calorie intake. I know you can do it! I saw you on here when I first started last summer. My first challenge was the walking challenge and I loved it!

OMW! I just went back and looked at that walking challenge! I lost 12.8 pounds during that challenge! If I can do it, YOU can do it!

Even at LongHorn and Hardees there are options and changes that you can make. Get a BIG salad and the grilled chicken with veggies, not potatoes. No creamy dressing or take your own. Put the dressing on the side and dip your fork in it before you pick up your bite. Every bit has dressing but you only eat a fraction of what you would consume if they poured in on your salad. We eat out almost every night and if you are careful you can make good choices. Don't give up because ONE day or one week was bad. Keep on trying. Its just one day or one week. Good luck!

I agree. Don't let one bad week be your undoing. You can pull through this rough patch. I think Becky has a point about starting simple. Just make one small change at a time and before you realize it you will be kicking butt again.

Thanks for all of yalls support. It was really needed. You all encouraged me to get my head back in the game. I did end up doing a little exercise last night. Hopefully, I can keep this drive going.

One day at a time.

Make some food ahead of time so that if you are going out with friends you can eat before leaving. Or pack some healthy snacks just in case you are out and do get hungry. You will make it. Just keep looking at today not tomorrow!
