Good Morning, FS Warriors! Up 0.5 pounds today. Yippee! That means I am going to have a big drop in a couple days. I'm still about 2.0 pounds below my predicted trendline on the Office Competition Challenge, so I'm good. I think I only have to be 239.0 next Friday, and I'm 238.5 this morning. It's going to get tougher though. Got to maintain an average of 1.5 pounds per week. Some weeks are going to cost me $20.00, but I should be able to maintain a 1.5 a week over the long haul.

Got the tractor out in the rain last night and moved a bunch of recycled concrete around to fill in holes and level out the parking area. Unfortunately, the recycled concrete acted like pre-mixed concrete, so when I put it down, it was more like oatmeal than gravel, so it didn't accomplish the intended purpose. You couldn't pack it down; it would just just out all around. So, I leveled it all out and left it. Not going to park on it for a while. Going to wait until it dries out to see if it accomplished anything before I go all berserk and all.

Getting excited about going up and getting the truck. I still have lots to do, which helps keep my mind off eating. The weather is supposed to be nice for the two-day trip, considering the time of year. Of course, I probably overdo my trip preparations - trying to anticipate any and everything that could go wrong. But, sometimes things don'g go as planned, and the things you least expect to go wrong, can at the most inopportune time. So, I try to be ready for them.

Well, got to get some work done around here - as soon as I figure out what that is. Everyone have a wonamous day! Toodles.

1.5 lbs a week is a great reasonable goal! What's the $20 all about? You have to meet something each week? Hope the trip goes well this weekend, good thing you're not in the north east getting all blizzar'd up!

It's always good to be ahead of schedule! Hope nothing goes wrong and your trips goes okay this weekend. I'm always happiest when I'm too busy to think about eating! :)

Dianne, I've got to fork up $20.00 for every week I don't meet the goal. However, the goal is 1.5 pounds per week cumulatively, so if I lost more one week than another, I'm still golden as long as cumulatively, I've averaged 1.5 lbs. per week since the inception, and I have. I started at 245 a couple weeks ago, so I'm still ahead of the game. A couple people (1 male/1 female) have already dropped out of the compettion; that leaves 4 of us. There really isn't any prize. The money goes into a pool forever, and if we ever decide to stop, we'll just buy a bunch of pizza. JK; I don't know what we'd do with the money if we dissolved.

Hope all goes well with the pick up of your pick up!

Having to give up $20 is great incentive to keep going - even if there isn't a prize at the end.

Ohhhh I like your challenge rules! Keeps you accountable throughout the whole thing. Is everyone at the same 1.5lb a week goal? You should find something healthy for the end to use the money on.... ummm, something for your office... I don't have any great ideas... Our office wants a keurig, that wouldn't be bad, depending how much $ is in the fund (or if you already have one, or if no one even likes coffee/tea)

No, Dianne. That's the beauty of the thing. We all picked our own goals to make it realistic. You only have to do what you said you were going to do. I think I picked like 1 1/2 pounds per week until I got to 200 lbs. and then 1/2 a pound a week after that, because I know the last 10 or 20 come off slower.I would actually prefer that everyone made their goal and no money went into the fund. Either way, it's just a friendly competition. We know there's going to be some involuntary donations throughout this ordeal, and I'll be sure to do some razzing, as I'm sure they would do to me. As far as what to spend the fund on, No idea. There really isn't anything wrong with a good meal out. Just because we're losing weight doesn't mean we can't enjoy a dinner reward. I'll have a lobster tail with drawn butter, and just go easy on the bread all week. :)
