ShyGuy's Journal, 31 January 2013

I'm trying to fight the feelings of being in a rut with my eating. I've had so much chicken, and pork lately, that I'm tired of eating it; and beef is expensive. I guess the only saving grace for me, is a well stocked freezer, out of which I've pulled a package of petite sirlion steaks, that I'll be turning into beef stroganoff, with the addition of some onions, mushrooms, and a jar of beef gravy; to serve over some Dreamfields pasta, or mashed cauliflower. A, throw together, chilimac will end up being for lunch. Well that takes care of today; a salmon fillet, and some salad will suffice, for either lunch or dinner tomorrow, leaving a king crab leg, along with more pasta, for the other meal. Some fresh, steamed, broccoli, with melted butter, will round out my meals. I like to plan my meals ahead, because it helps me to stay on track with my eating. :-) Have a great day everyone. :-)

It sounds like you are eating well! Yum, that beef stroganoff sounds wonderful! Maybe having some steak will help you feel like you're getting out of that rut. You are doing the right things, so keep up the good work!

I'm so greatful for getting a deer this fall (and for my friend giving me his). Freezer full of 35lbs of venison for the bargain price of $5.00 deer tag!

How about switching up the veggies instead? Splurge on some yummy fresh produce you don't usually buy and the meat won't seem so important.

Try squash!! So many different ones and so many ways to cook them. We stuff our acorn squash and bake it. Yummy!! I even found a site to learn how to cook them in a crock pot, so even easier.
