FullaBella's Journal, 24 January 2013

Thank you all for your very kind and supportive comments on my endless opera yesterday (me Me ME ME ME Me Meeeee) with my multiple journal mind dumps. You helped me smile, laugh, and cry all over again. You're all such nice people I thought I'd spare you today and only post one journal ~ unless something really interesting happens before I go to bed tonight then all bets are off.

I loved being called BatGirl & WannaBeThug all in the same day ~ that was so cool ~ made me feel strong and dangerous all at the same time. I liked that mental image, thank you. The kindness, warmth and sincerity of all of your comments rang through and I felt truly blessed to have so many great friends.

I am a little raw today but feeling better. Yesterday felt like a tornado of emotions and I am glad I did it. Again, thank you for reading and responding.

Sadly, LOL, I did not lose the 10lbs on the scale as I'd jokingly hoped for after getting all of that 'crap' out of my system but I did feel at least twice that amount lighter emotionally. Light enough to actually JOG a little on my treadmill. Not very long - maybe 30 second increments at 4mph but it was a first.

It didn't last though. While my little furbaby has finally grown accustomed to the 'bump... bump ... bump...' of me walking and snoozes comfortably in the recliner the 'WHUMP, WHUMP WHUMP' of me jogging had her OUT of that chair and back at the treadmill, barking at me. Then she started wagging her tail and ... well... what can I say ...

Chasing the furbaby and laughing trumps the treadmill anyday. Deal with it, Jack LaLane. I need a FS calculator for 'chasing dog playfully' - until then I'm giving it a 1000 calories a minute. Definitely worth it.

Well, enough warmup for me, me, me... going to go out now and catch up on your journals and postings.

Thank you again,
Bella

I to think that playing w/your pets needs to be listed as an excercise choice!!!

That is what we are here for. For support and encouragement. We are so thankful to have you here as well! :D And congrats on the jogging!, if even for a little. It's a step forward. I have a dog and would do the same at first, now he just sleeps right next to the treadmill. LOL.

I have a briard who loves rolling so I guess grooming him would be about equal to rowing or running on the excercise bot. Even fit healthy people need a lie down in a darkened room after grooming him, he has been to 8 groomers all of whome have politely or not so politely, declined to groom him again. He weighs 110 to 120lbs and has a brain the size ofa walnut, I envy you a fur baby sometimes!! :-)

Just remember my angelic friend, your dumping is our inspiration & confirmation that we are normal and supported here among friends. I know I am not alone saying how much I love reading your journals -- they are always so well written, right on track with something I've been through, felt or thought, and your wit always has me smiling:)! So, bring them on, girlfriend angel!

Thank you all for your kindness and support. Yep, I'll send an email to FS tech right now to add 'playing with the dog' and 'genuine belly laugh' as a trackable activity. Wouldn't it be great if we required ourselves a minimum number of laughs daily the same way we do 'water'? Astrid - I googled Briard - wowza! What a beautiful breed! I'd definitely love having him around 'in a way' because when I lost weight in the past, whenever I got something to eat (that I didn't need or want, just habit) my dog would take it out of my hands. She was a big working cow dog so that was not an issue. My furbaby now - does the same - and I have to be as conscientious about 'her' intake as I am of mine because the phenobarb for the seizures slows down her metabolism. So maybe she needs a pet-secret activity tracker too :-)
