Djburney's Journal, 24 January 2013

I am feeling so good. I don't know why the scale does not reflect it, but I feel thinner, my stomach is flatter, my waist smaller, and I think I'm losing fat. I feel confident that I will be below 190 in the next few weeks.

I had a round trip to Tucson yesterday, 260 miles, and my meeting went well. It was such a stunningly beautiful day, so when I got home at 4:30 I ran in the house, put on my shorts and hiking shoes, grabbed my dog and headed to the mountain park for hike. I found a new trail, felt really strong and healthy.

It feels so good to have taken charge of my life.

You barely ate anything the last few days, maybe you're being too restrictive and your body is in starvation mode. I mean 900 calories and a hike at the end of the day would normally show a big impact. Hang in there and give yourself a break.

It doesn't seem to matter if I eat 1500 or 1000 calories, my weight remains around 194. I feel like I've lost, so that must have been a water fluctuation. I'm not worried about it, don't feel the need to give myself a break. I feel the need to weigh 160.

You sound fantastic. I think we who have yo yo d a few times lose some perspective with body image and if you look down and see a flatter stomach and feel thinner it s more accurate than a scale. Love that you had a great hike. : )

Feeling thinner is half the battle. I find that how I feel physically significantly affects my mood and my eating habits. Ride that wave for all its worth! Yay for taking charge :)
