Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 11 December 2012

Crap.. you realize you're entirely too busy when you forget to eat breakfast. It's a good thing I snitched 2 pieces of hubbies bacon or I would probably be headed to the vending machines right about now. Not good! Especially since I'm at my magic number. It's the number that magically triggers cravings. This morning I had images of Dunkin Donut White Chocolate Latte's dancing in front of me. I passed 2 dunkin donuts on the way to work and somehow managed to resist. Probably because I overslept and was already 5 minutes late for work.. but hey.. if it works I'll take it. Heck... this gives me some wiggle room for a glass of wine tonight.

Yes.. gasp... I've added wine to my low carb diet. Sutter Home has some that arent all that bad and the carbs are relatively low. And.. I figured out that after almost of year of not drinking that I'm a serious light weight and all I need is a glass. Any more and I would probably end up dancing on top of the coffee table during commercials. Plus.. right about now between work, kids, holidays, and everything else if I want to unwind with a glass of wine at the end of the day then I'm gonna do it. It's not hurting my weight loss.

Becoming compulsive scale lady is also working. Thankfully the number goes down little by little each day. If it goes up? Well then I'm not sure if it would be half as motivating. lol Luckily I haven't had to deal with that yet. Although... 8 yr old is asking where all the xmas cookies are. So I think we are going to start holiday baking this weekend. I plan to make a special treat for me that I can have to keep me out of the other cookies. Plus I'm only making their favorites and not mine. Somehow this has to work. I feel like I'm kicking the diet fairy in the face. Here she is giving me such good fortune and I'm about to jump a cliff into a giant sugar pool. CRAP! Maybe if I drink when I bake I won't be as tempted.

I have to bake either Thr or Monday... The biscotti is my killer, I love it! I have been into the wine to for the same reasons but am using sweeter ones to mix as a spritzer with seltzer or keeping it to one as much as I can. What ones did you find that are lower carb?

Yay for the wine! I find it a good way to use up calories sometimes when I want something after dinner - but I feel lighter in the morning than if I'd eaten actual food. Your weight graph looks amazing lately! Keep it up!

I'm doing my baking this weekend too, and I've already told the kids they can pick out a few and the rest we are sharing with work and family. Keep busy and keep up the good work!! I had a glass of wine over the weekend and it was great!

You can look up the carb counts on all of them at sutter homes website. So far I've found the pinot noir, shiraz, chardonnay, merlot, and cabernet for 3 carbs. I got white zin for 8 carbs a glass but I love it so.. oh well. I just love that I can find their carb counts! Everyone else seems like a gamble.

I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy. No way I could drink and bake. I only have so much resolve ~ you'd just find me the next morning face down in the cookie dough with a massive hangover. Whew!

Seriously, I am with FullaBella, once I have some alcohol in me, all bets are off. Sometimes I am so thankful that I have no baking skills. Good luck and I hope the wine helps you. I am diligently trying to appease the diet fairy. She is a fickle little thing.
