Day 3 - I went a little high on the carbs BUT I did it eating a salad. So although it's technically a fail I'm not considering it one. I can be dillusional with myself when I'm being good. It's when I'm being bad that I need to be sane. I've been doing so well for 3 days and now my sweet tooth has decided to make an appearance.

I've watched the scale drop back down at a satisfyingly sweet rate of speed. So why do I suddenly want a giant mug of hot cocoa and a donut!?!?!?! I think my butt is sending cravings to my brain. It's all a big conspiracy put together by my jiggly bits to stay jiggly. Or.. it's stress. I'm leaning towards the conspiracy idea though.

So... The holiday's are almost here and my family lives 11 hours away in Indiana. Although I love my family to pieces it's hard to work up the energy, ambition, and funds to go see them for a few days. This means putting 6 month old little man into a car for 11 hours with the 8 yr old and I. Hubby can't get away from the farm. I just don't know if I want to go. I should go. I moved a couple years ago and I've only seen them about 3 times since then. My mom moved and I haven't even seen her new house. I think I'm going to let the weather decide for me if I should go. If it snows.. I stay home. Hubby doesn't really want me to leave, the family wants me to come, 8 yr old wants to go, I'm sure little man would object if he knew what an 11 hr car ride felt like. And.. I hate leaving hubby. It sounds clingy and slightly psychotic but I hate leaving him home alone. I'm afraid something will happen like he will get kicked by a cow or something and I won't be there. Maybe I'm getting paranoid in my old age. It would feel nice to show off the new slimmer butt to the people who have always known me to be 180-190lbs.... GAH!!! If they would just move closer this would be so much easier.

The other stress is holiday shopping. I have no clue what people want and I'm in a strange kinda place this year. I think it's the lack of sleep. Last year everyone asked for gift cards. Gift cards are boring. I saw a dancing santa hat at the hallmark store. Or Bacon flavored candy at urban outfitters... Can I buy them each a value pack of solo cups and put a sticker on it that says SOLO CUP XMAS TREE (some assembly required)????? Xmas is supposed to be FUN. It's where you get butt ugly sweaters that you can't return. And singing fish.. or motion activated stuffed animals that sing annoying xmas songs. I thought about getting little man's new sitter a gift card to the local store then thought.. no that's a gift card. I should get her a smoked spiral honey ham with a card that says Enjoy your meat product! I need help.. I need more strange ideas.

We have to go 5 1/2 hours to my hubby's family and I thought that was bad, but 11 hours! I don't think I could do it, especially just me with two kids. Good luck with that one! Holiday shopping is hard. My hubby's family always does white elephant, and last year we all bought something that was "As Seen On TV", so that was interesting. This year we are doing a gag gift with a gift card, so people will fight over the gift cards, then when all of the gift card fighting is over everyone will open their gag gift. So, now I'm on the hunt for a good semi-cheap gag gift. I like the Solo cup tree idea, I may have to steal that one. :)

I also saw the worst xmas gift ever at urban outfitters. It was a box set of tighty whities and the old gym socks with the colored stripe on top. It came in a box labeled worst xmas gift ever. I think I might make my own. I can decorate a box.

I do cards for the sitter, teachers etc.. Gas or dunkin are the go to! I am all about finding THE gift. Ry's getting older so he does like picking out some of his own stuff so I'm ok with that (Think I talked Mom into a gift cert for him to design his own skateboard deck). I got these cool ear cuff things for my sis with a matching toe ring. Maddie's getting the innotab 2 and disney on ice tix. Ry's getting an xbox game and SU/Villanova basketball tickets to go with hubby. I am about the experiences with the kids this year and less "stuff". Hubby and I got alot this year so we took out night last weekend and that's it other than stocking stuff (but that is still hard for him). That takes some preassure off. We pitched in on an Ipad Mini for mom and a Dad's been wanting a new legion sweater. Outside of that I buy for the MIL and my sis's boyfriend, 2 younger cousins, one aunt and that's about it. We all cut way down because the family got just too big and I love it! We will find stuf... and ps my hubby has gotten a bacon related gift each year, the ornament was the best! PS the bacon frosting and popcorn are nasty but were funny!

How did you find SU/Villanova tickets? Were they nosebleeds?

I got lucky! About a week after everything went on sale to the public a block of lower level seats that the college had were released. They are the last row of the first level on the corner of the court so not too bad. He's been asking to go to a game for 3 years. I'm just mad I can't go, it's gonna be CRAZY! I'm goingto Disney with Maddie. Split to save money since we got expensive seats for both. (Plus I went to 2 SU games last year and Hubby has never been to one. Oh also Ry made a duct tape bag for my sis and we are making lighted photo glass blocks for my sis and the grandparents.

I think you are on to something with the conspiracy theory. Just when I think I am getting back on track, the cravings spike through the roof. Is there a chance you could convince your family to come to you instead? That seems like an awfully long road trip to do with 2 small children all by yourself. I wish you the best, regardless of what you decide!
