5.11 miles walking today, 11 minute aaerobic level. We went to Arlington Cemetary walked all over with a tour guide; changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier, Eternal flame at Kennedy's grave sight, and so much more. We stopped at the Air Force Memorial with it's soaring and heart-wrenching sculptures; all overlooking the side of the Pentagon where on 9/11/01 the plane incenerated so much beyond the lives it destroyed.

So emotionally and physically exhausting, yet so wonderfully heartening to see how generation after generation answer the call to serve what they believe in at any cost. The Medal of Honor winners. There were four funerals at Arlington while we were there; one with highest Honor's. I didn't cry (much), but my heart hurt.

Tomorrow is the Capitol visit; starting at 7 am & probably not returning until 7 pm. Night all...
