I just finished up an unplanned lunch which screwed up my attempts to go for a 48 hr fast which would have ended tomorrow @ 3:45 PM.

This was my best, somewhat controlled, re-feed after fasting for 22 hrs. It required a trip downstairs to get a diet ginger ale within 5 minutes of eating my salad. Then a trip to the kitchen to get some tea to go with the cashews and spoons of peanut butter.

I ate an egg, salad greens, chicken breast, Cole slaw, red wine vinegar, cashews, peanut butter, ginger ale and tea. I am now stuffed (the process took 20 minutes from the 1st bite to the completion of my tea) and the following has been logged:

Fat 58.28 > Carbs 42.32 > Sugar 16.81 > Net C 34.72 > Prot 79.21 > 982 Cals

If I can restart the clock now and go for a 48 with a worse case of OMAD tomorrow, I should keep up this momentum I've got going.

To be safe, I will stop at the grocery store tonight to get some eggs and tomatoes and bring to work tomorrow to prepare for my moment of weakness if it occurs

By the way, it was really really hard to stop eating the cashews because they were salty and the piggy was oink oinking away. I am very proud I controlled this re-feed and do not feel guilty for not making my 48 hour goal.

1.5 hours left of my work day. Lets go!!!!!

I would not feel guilty either on not making the whole fast. It can take a while to get back into the fasting mode. you did great. good idea to get some food to bring to work.

Hey Twin! I mean that in the sense that as I read your wonderfully written account I was like "Yep, that EXACTLY how I would have done it" :) Anyway, onward. Life is still good. Family is still good. We have jobs, a roof over our heads. We will get this weight thing figured out eventually... However, I got stuck in one of those unplanned work lunches, but for me I was 3 days into a 5 days fast so I was able to sit there and drink water. Had I only been one day in I would have caved... Anyway, NO CAHSHEWS - - I could EASILY eat a CAN. That weekend I gained 10lbs in three days? There-were-cashews-involved! :)

Yes, cashews are the devil's food! I just passed up a huge bucket of salted cashews while at the market. They are my favorite nut (besides myself) and they're also the instigator to a slippery slope for me!

So Ches, as you can see we discussed it and it appears you're not allowed any more Cashews - - apparently none of us are :( Sorry buddy, I know that's not what you wanted to hear - - perhaps we can take this issue up again during the holidays... :)

I go silly on all nuts hahahaha. don't feel you have to drop cashews if you like em mate. just stick to 1-3 portions a day
