tahoebrun's Journal, 26 September 2018

So - one of those days...tested before bed and two hours after dinner 105 BGL all good - tested this morning when I got up - 102 BGL; Ate breakfast - all good. Took my insulin dose (same as every day) - ate my snack...all good - drank my Americano - all good (actually awesome yumm) - Felt shaky at 10 am and tested to see what was up...52 BGL. Some days I think my pancreas is really a prankster trying to see if I am paying attention. Maybe he needs a hug. This is one of those moments where I am just really amazed at how complicated our systems are. Well - on my way to lunch. I hope everyone has an awesome day on this adventure.

Wow that is really low!! Is it the insulin that does that?

I know absolutely zero about diabetes, but because I'm a nerd, I'd be logging all this and showing it to someone who knows something. :) But you're probably already doing that. Never mind...

The insulin part is a long discussion - but I am working with a care team and this is going to be a topic of conversation. I have been reducing my carbs over the past months and have reduced my dose to half and I am hoping to reduce it again. My goal is to be off insulin - my endocrinologist is not convinced. It is a big learning curve as I am still only 291 days into this journey. Either way I am super grateful to have these luxury problems...the alternative was way worse.

I'm not taking insulin, but with my fasting and running I have been all over the map, but the lowest I ever hit was the 60s. I gasped when I read 59! Wow, please take care of yourself.

You will be off insulin! awesome! my friend who's a type 1 is taking 65% LESS insulin! You might have had a low because you don't need as much. Only you will be able to tell! I'm so proud of your goals! whoohooo!
