flagchic's Journal, 20 August 2012

I adore my days off. Went and swam laps again today, sunbathed a bit, steam bathed for as long as I could stand it. On my days off I can take a 45 minutes shower and not care, since I have nowhere to be. Exfoliation. Face mask. Actually spend time to shave. It's amazing. Yum.

I've once again gotten off track this week. A couple of meals out kills my calorie intake for the day. Why? I have meals and dinners planned at home. I get these cravings and they overtake me.

I did my measurements this morning, and I'm putting the scale up. No weigh in for 2 weeks, if I can stand it.

Sounds delightful, and a good way to de-stress. I had a two week break between classes, and start my next clinical rotation up Wednesday, so I've been taking as much stress-free time as I could. Hoping this particular clinical leads to a job offer at the end as well, and crossing my fingers.

That steam sounds LOVELY! Gotta put that on a rewards day for myself!

Jessa- I highly recommend it, especially if the place where you go for a steam bath allowes eucalyptis oil! It opens up the lungs, helps the sinuses, and then your skin feels infused with that scent. :) Good luck, Bloodaxe, with your clinical rotations! I've heard about intense schedules like yours, but you'll be on your feet and doing great!

There's nothing wrong with giving in to cravings now and again :) Like I said in my journal the other day, there's stuff that I consider a treat now that were pretty much every day things a couple of years ago. I just know that if I were to try and give up chocolate or booze outright I'd end up going on a crazy binge and doing more harm than good. You're still heading in the right direction and that's what counts :)

Thanks, Rick :) The problem I have is the "now and again" portion... I need to remember that a splurge is meant to be once in awhile, not every day, haha! I could never 100% give up my dark chocolate ;)

I know it's hard to get the balance right but you will :) Anyway, dark chocolate has less calories than milk chocolate ;)
